Fantastic shots everyone, you killed it, I am in complete awe. 2010 was a rough year which kept me from chasing too far from home. As result I missed out on the many tornado opportunities but still tried to make due with whatever fell into my lap. I wasn't going to post just because I have succumbed to becoming a backyard person but with IL close enough to the genuine action, figure it can't hurt to share some perspective.
April 5 - Macro of a slug munching on a 1/2" stone in Piatt County IL
June 4 - Easton IL, detached wall cloud vs. rain/hail foot. This was the remnants of that which Colin posted in his submission.
June 22 - Ragged mammatus at sunrise behind a pre-dawn system.
June 23 - Looking S at an approaching SW storm over Decatur IL
July 21 - Tornado warned storm from near Argenta IL
August 13 - Dirty, dusty shelf going over an empty church near my house.
September 2 - Shelf and beans from near Mt. Auburn IL
September 22 - Leading edge of a developing meso low as seen over Warrensburg IL. This is 15 images spliced, click the pic to view a significantly larger version.
October 24 - Western Macon County IL
November 22 - Severe Thunderstorm over Macon IL
December 31 - Remnants of the storm to produce an EF3 tornado at Petersburg IL from just NE near New Holland.
Best wishes to all of you for many successes in 2011.
