• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

As some of you know, I help out with the CoD weather website (weather.cod.edu)

I'm in the process of building a mobile version for use on my iPhone after spending 10 days chasing and realizing just how much it sucks using the CoD website from a phone. I'm interested in comments/requests for content.

Seeing that no one responded I guess I'll speak up, since it's always nice to have feedback about a website's development ;) . First my impressions of the non mobile CoD site on my ipod. As long as you get past the main screen (I kept clicking on the College of DuPage Click here for more info graphic) then I didn't have to many problems. I like to access CoD weather page for the satellite/radar and profiler data, so when navigating those areas of the site, my only two suggestions are, bigger links/buttons, and I don't like that it opens another browser to view the radar/satellite images.

For the mobile site, I assume (guess) more content will be added... but the one thing that some times annoys me is when there's no way to get out of the mobile site. There's one or two sites that force my Ipod touch to use the mobile versions (at least I couldn't find a way out). Since mobile versions usually don't include all the possible content of the regular site (understandibly) it is sometimes nice to switch back to the normal site to get what you want/need.

Hope this helps...

If you use the mobile version (weather.cod.edu/m/) there's a "go to full site" link at the bottom that will jump past the main page :)

I just mentioned the stuff about being able to go to the full version site, just to try and make sure buttons like that don't go away... hope I didn't leave a bad impression

I like the mobile site. It is very fast for SPC text info and even the Outlook. The speed will be quite useful compared to the slower mobile sites. Any plans for radar mobile? When I go to the full site (using a Blackberry) I cannot switch from ref to vel on the radar. Normally have a laptop with me too, so it is no biggie. Sometimes just want to take a quick look on the BB. Thanks for working on the mobile version!

All the best.

I have a mobile bookmark page that I've been tinkering with for a while. Optimized for iPhone.

The "Resource Index" links at the top are anchored to subsections further down the page.

It's a work in progress. I change it frequently. There's nothing proprietary about it. Feel free to borrow, copy or steal the source code if it suits you.
