Storms of 2007 Charity DVD!

Wasn't Eagle Pass on April 24th? Perhaps there was two events but I thought I remembered it being on the same day as Nickerson.

Fwiw, I already plan to contribute my April 24th footage, but also have good tripoded video of May 22nd if anyone should take on the production role.

Well the storm reports do in fact say that the Eagle Pass, TX tornado was on April 24 2007. I have removed the 4/29/07 segment for the chapter lineup. Thank you for pointing that out.

Mick

I'm producing the April 24 chapter of the DVD and I am in need of video. I have a few contributers right now, but for as many chasers that were on this storm I am surprised I don't have more. In addition to the tornado video I am also interested in the storm structure as well. If you are interested please PM. Thanks.

If any producers would like to use my "musical services", feel free to PM me. I can send some sound clips if you'd like. For now, I will only volunteer to do one chapter so that more people who want to contribute their talents will have a chance. Then, if there are any left after everyone who wants to volunteer has had a chance to do so, then I'll be up to take on more :-).

I apologize for the slow response to some of the emails that I have recieved over the past week. I have been in Boston and moving during the time that I wasn't out of town. I have a new address for all of the people that are sending me video and I figured it would be best to post it here incase I happen to forget someone.

1401 Apple Ln. #15
Lawrence, KS 66049

The response from everyone wanting to share their video of May 4th has been incredible and if anyone has any video to share from the day that I haven't been in contact with, please do not hesitate as nothing will be turned down. Everything is coming together to make one heck of a chapter and I feel that will be true for the whole DVD!

I can do Music as well.. I have royalty free music available from techno to other alternative abilities. Let me know if i can help in any way.

My time limits me from contributing this year. Other than some music scores I will be able to create in my spare time. i can do it quick and probably within about 3 days upon request.

I just want all the producers to know that I will be contacting you via email by weeks end. I am still organizing everything so that this project runs as smooth as possible. So please be patient.

Also, many of you have PM'd me the past day or two. Be assured that I will get back with you as well by weeks end as well.

I am here, just getting everything ready to go.

Thanks,

Mick

Hey guys,

As before my services for graphic design are still available. I can help out with titles, data visualization, or really any other neat computer generated stuff. Here's a short sequence I did for my brother and Mike O'Keeffe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmQT0JvRRbc . Just PM or email me with your request and I'll see about doing it. I'll be starting college on the 20th so please try to get inquiries to me before then if you need them done quickly.

Thanks, Eric.

Contributors to the May 22 Hill City, KS barrel meso and tornado chapter please send your video to:

Precis Co.
PO Box 35963
Des Moines, IA 50315

The video must be as raw as possible without any music, transitions, overlaid graphics, special effects, copyrights or watermarks (final will be fully credited on every frame).

I can accept Digital8, Hi8, or 8mm. If your video is on miniDV (probably is!) then please rip it to DV AVI (not recompressed or uncompressed, preferably type-1, you can use the free WinDV app) and burn it to data DVD(s). Otherwise, please send me a miniDV camcorder along with your miniDV tape(s) ;)

Please also send me any other useful data like digital stills, times & locations of each clip & still, gps logs, and any info that may aid in the set-up portion of the chapter including your chase strategy & decision making. Also any footage of the lightning & wind show after dark could be useful.

If you haven't already please sign the release and send it to the address on the release:

Hey all! Obviously I am producing the April 13 Seymour Wedge chapter and am looking for footage from that day. Will also do a small snippet on the Ft. Worth tornado, but likely will focus on the Seymour wedge; if you want to contribute, please contact me via [email protected] and I will send you the required information!

Thanks a ton!!! :)

Follow up on the music scores.. What i will need is a finished product of your editing. this way I can match the music to the timing of the editing cuts. Please let me know in advance so I can meet the needs and coordinate with the editor.

Another call for submissions from the May 5th high risk day. I'd still love to have some more structure shots and back lit video! I don't care if you don't have a tornado in the shot or video. PM me with what you can send! A rare high risk day deserves a lot of exposure!

It seems we still have a few straggler dates that have no producer lined up. None of these dates were major events so I'm wondering...if producers can't be found for these within the next few weeks, will the alotted time then be divided up among the other dates to make them longer, therefore helping producers by giving them some extra "breathing room" as far as editing?

If memory serves, Katrina got a full half hour on the 05 version. May 4 has one of the two longest time slots, but 15 minutes seems kinda short for such a historic, well-chased, globally-newsworthy event. There's three ho-hum events at 5 minutes each that still have no producer. I say if they're not taken up in the next week or so, give that extra time to the May 4 chapter.

After all, May 4 type events are why we do this at all. Just planting seeds....

Shane,

The DVD producers have our own BB set up and we are discussing this very issue right now. We are awaiting Mick's final decision, but a few of us have already commented that any extra time that will be made available for un-produced chapters would be "donated" to the 5/4 chapter. It does need to be the highlight of the DVD.
