Severe Weather in South America: Tornadoes and Severe Storms

Menno van der Haven, indeed we are the world capital for MCCs. See in the map that the systems develop right in the area of the Amazonic flow to the south in the interior of the continent. Check this monumental MCC over Northern Argentina, western of South Brazil and Paraguay in November 2004.

This week has been marked by the coldest oubreak in May in the recent decades in Argentina and Southern Brazil. Very cool pictures and data in this link.24 people so far died in consequence of this major cold outbreak. Of course, in the international media people will only listen to the record warm in Russia (global warming frenzy).
