I have done a few:

This last one was hard to adjust the lighting just right. I think it turned out ok though.

Great Pano's Guys

Quick question, I have Photoshop CS4 And cant seem to find the Stitch attachment / Icon - Am i missing something or does CS4 Not have this. Would appreciate someone pushing me in the right direction.

Many Thanks

Hi Paul,
The function you're looking for is located in File>Automate>Photomerge in CS4.

Hi Paul,
The function you're looking for is located in File>Automate>Photomerge in CS4.

The easier way, though, is by doing it in Bridge...Tools>Photoshop>Photomerge.

That's how I did these two (Keep in mind all these photos are low-res):

This one is purely stitched (this takes more like 2 hours to get it correct...4 frames)

Man, what amazing panorama's being posted here. I use Adobe Photoshop CS4 and used that for making the one I made. First time I had done it, but now it makes me want to go out and do more.

Awesome thread! Some really beautiful photos here. I love panos, and have been shooting them for years. I like capturing big scenes, and panos lend well to that. :)

I'm not a big fan of Photoshop for panos, as I can't ever seem to get it to work well in stitching. I use both Panorama Factory and PTGui, depending upon the shot. I've also started to use bracketing to create HDR panos.

Here's a few of my favorites:

You certainly have the pano shots wired. Appears that a specialized program is better than photoshop.

Awesome shots, James. You take such amazing pictures, I always love looking at your pictures. There are so many very talented photographers on here.

Thanks Greg. I know folks that use Photoshop and get great results, I just can't. ;-) I shoot almost exclusively in the portrait orientation, which I think gives photoshop a hard time. Also, I tend to shoot very wide, which it also has a hard time with sometimes. Finally, I'm a bit sloppy about how I rotate my lens around the nodal point of the camera. PTGui and Panorama Factory are a bit more forgiving in that respect.

Joey, thanks!

James

Thank you comrades for sharing your utterly breath taking panoramas and teaching us about alternative good software to photoshop.
Another question.. Where would one find good editing software that allows us to put a watermark on a photo, or to place a spectacular footer title like on James Langfords?

Joey, that's awesome. Photoshop is increasingly becoming a strong pano-stitching tool. It used to be rather lacking compared to competitors, but it does a wonderful job now.

Here are a few of mine, storm and otherwise. Click the images to open them at a much larger size.
