• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Thank you comrades for sharing your utterly breath taking panoramas and teaching us about alternative good software to photoshop.
Another question.. Where would one find good editing software that allows us to put a watermark on a photo, or to place a spectacular footer title like on James Langfords?

Hi Stephen. My website (smugmug.com) allows me to overlay my images with a .png file to create a copyright. I think you can use Photoshop to do something similar using layers, if you have photoshop. I don't know of any free software, but I'm sure there are some out there.

Very very impressive guys! I'm in Colorado for a few weeks of training so I'm hoping to get some nice shots of Pikes Peak and Royal Gorge. Any tips you all can share would be much appreciated!

Hi Stephen. I use a freeware called "faststone image viewer" to batch convert \ resize \ watermark my pictures. http://www.faststone.org/

In the top menu: setting \ batch convert (or hit "f3"), select "use advanced options", then click on "advanced option" and go to the tab named "text" (or "watermark" if you wanna use a logo)

Thank you, James, Jean-Marc and Ryan.. I appreciate your watermark software suggestions and will check these options out. Previously and on a desktop, I've used Microsoft "Picture-it", which is no longer available. I will look into these other options for my new laptop.

Gimp is the image editor I use. It's free and allows you to put copyrights as a layer much like photoshop does. Just another option.

Amazing work guys! Niccolò, the following image is incredible, what exactly is this? Interaction of a sea breeze/land breeze?

James, completely at a loss for words and Ryan, had not seen your Goshen pano's, positively stunning!

I've tried the Photomerge in CS3 but not a big fan and even if rendered in layers to allow for further work. For mine I have simply stitched each together manually. Found that to go into Filter>Distort>Lens Correction and remove distortion 1-3 or till horizon is straight on each frame makes it much easier to line up manually. Here's a few...

Man ol man, what a bunch of great pics! Thanks Joey for starting this thread. I've been wanting to do this for awhile now, and have taken several photos over the years with the intention of stitching together, and this article finally got me off my butt, and I'm grateful. Now if I can just locate all the pics I've taken. My video/still camera doesn't have the ability to attach a 10mm lens, so this is the only way I can get wide angle shots of these storms is with a stitching program. These were stitched using PTgui.

It's damn hard to ever get decent shots in the Mid-Atlantic. This is still sub-par, but decent for being a northwest Pennsylvania chase (July 23rd, 2010).

Hi Paul!

I'm really sorry for the long times past before my answer.

I think is was a similar cloud to the morning glory. It was formed along the gust front of north wind over the Adriatic sea; probably the very high Hygrometric salt it was the cause.

Best regards!
