New Stormtrack logo contest

Hey Mark,

Here are a couple of mine;

stormtrack%20version%201.4

stormtrack%20V1.3.jpg

Logo above is the hamlet of LaGrange, WY as the tornado looms overhead.
Simultaneous radar grab indicates my position on the edge of town.

I think the main confusion here is what are we really after. If it's just a banner for the top of the website, it doesn't need to be overly simple and could have photographic images in it. If it's a logo that could be used for bumper stickers or t-shirts, it does need to be simple.

Ideally I think we should have a simple logo that is incorporated into a banner for the website.

If you refer back to the original post in this thread, there wasn't any mention of bumper stickers or T-Shirts, only that the logo would replace the current one in the upper left hand corner of the Stormtrack. The size specifications are also listed in that post for those who have been wondering about that issue as well.

Here's a link to the beginning of this thread:

I decided I would tweak my logo I created just a bit...this will likely be my final version ;)

That's it for me, my final two submissions.

* Again, will do a clean image if chosen.

This is a good departure from the existing, and something hopefully others will consider. Think outside the box (literally). I wish I had time to do up a design.

Think fades, transition, text fill. Also...don't necessary think literal, think conceptually, what we do, what we see, what we aspire to. Consider everything.

Break things down to an elementary level. Tornado...sure....but how about just the 'rotation'. How about 'fast'. Consider keywords at a simple level, and also a very dynamic level.

I must say that I am very impressed with the recent work everyone has submitted. I think we're getting to a point where a deadline needs to be set for last minute submissions and/or revisions. I'm thinking Thursday or Friday of this week, then the preliminary polls can be set up and should be ready to go over the weekend or early next week. The system has a limitation where polls can only have 10 choices, so I think we'll need to have a runoff and then the top ten logos will go into the final poll.

There's one last person I need to hear from who submitted three logos, so I'm hoping to hear from them soon otherwise the committee will have to decide which 2 of the 3 are the best for the preliminary polls. Keep up the good work gentlemen and I wish everyone the best of luck once the voting begins!
