Ok, I don’t pretend to be a meteorologist, or even an amateur one, while looking at the GFS model here’s what I see in the BIG picture;

A large high-pressure system, sitting off the coast of Labrador, is essentially blocking everything from exiting off to the east. Several lows are stacking up in eastern Canada and the ne US. It appears this is preventing anything of subsistence from forming and moving into the western US from the n Pacific. I don’t see this Canadian High moving out before Thursday of next week. What are some other thoughts on this? Is this similar to the Hudson (low pressure) system we had earlier in the season?
