Hey all,

let it be unbelivable, but our country got covered with deep snow cover for the first time in this "winter" period 2006/07, we just had some slight snow covers during winter. Actually its already spring time which makes it even more impressive. As I already said some words in this topic last week: http://www.stormtrack.org/forum/showthread.php?t=11504, we were expecting cold outbreak with snow. At the end we got 10-15" of snow cover all over the Slovenia with amounts exceeding 30" in higher places. There was also a lot of damage to the trees since snow was pretty heavy, it was snowing at 0 to +2°C all the time!
As expected pressure went pretty low, reaching 982hPa in my area and slightly below 980hPa in the central of whole system in north Italy.

There is also one interesting thing to mention along with this, a week before this cold outbreak with snow came, we had temperatures reaching +22°C (=72°F), so quite a change. Reminds me of that one in NY awhile ago if I am not mistaken.

Don't want to be too long, just want to share some photos of this event. I had to do some chasing, its hard to wait for real spring to come!:) Here are some pics of this powder snow from mountain pass called Masun at ~1000m asl where snow was up to 20"...

Very pretty!!! By the way, I went and looked at your photos on your website and the ones you took of the interchanges and of all the big pickup trucks in Texas made me laugh! :). Seems like non-Americans always are humored by how big everything is over here when they come visit
