Well, I figured it was close enough to start the annual chase partner thread for 2009. Please do not post your address or phone number openly for your own safety/security. Those can be exchanged privately via email or PM.

I myself will be looking for some people to maybe team up with next season, tag along in a separate vehicle(my girlfriend chases with me in my truck when time permits her to so I don't really have room in my truck although sometimes I will, it all depends on if she has work or not, if she does I would be more than willing for someone to ride along with me lol) , share hotel costs, etc. I have already put in my vacation time for work from May 20 to June 5 and will be chasing other dates as well as work permits. Anyone around the Chillicothe, MO area or close interested, shoot me a pm.

I am considering adding an additional chase partner to the team this year because of the expected technological load we will face this season. Justin Teague and I are working to develop a more advanced live video stream for our viewers which will require additional technical support on our chases.

On top of that I would like to have an extra camera man to get shots of the team on chases. After a successful season with plenty of storm shots and tornado video I came away a little dissapointed with our lack of video (especially multiple camera angles) of the chase team during our chases. This really limits our editing abilities, and makes our videos not as versitile as I would like. For this season I am hoping to have an additional chaser to ride along who can serve as a camera man and keep an eye on our server in the vehicle while we are streaming.

If you are interested drop me a PM. I prefere someone who lives around the Tulsa area, or someone who is planning on at least taking a one or two week chase-cation. Because of some bad experiences with a couple of chasers in the past, Justin and I have become somewhat adamant about who we let chase with us. If you are interested and we believe you would be a good fit for our team we would then take some time to get to know you and get a feel for how you "perform" out in the field before making a final decision. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

I'm looking for someone in the Denver area to share costs with too. I've chased the last few seasons sporadically with partners, but most of the time by myself. It sure would be nice to have a co-pilot to help with roads and the computer and such. I've got vacation from April 29-May 6, May 20-24, and June 10-17. Plus, my schedule of 24/48 gives me open days outside of those blocks for quick 2 day excursions if conditions warrant. Anyone interested, shoot me a PM.

I'm mobile equipped with GR3, SN, and Streets and Trips...all GPS interfaced. I'm looking at getting my HAM before next season, so there's a possibility I could have a 2m/70cm radio if all goes well. I have a simple point and shoot, so if anyone has a good still/video camera, you're more than welcome to bring that too!

Looking for anyone in the Illinois area, mainly northern but not limited to that, who would like to ride along or caravan with our team this year. All you provide is your own way, IE: food and possibly lodging, if needed. We have all the communications equipment and gadgets already, but you are welcome to bring more. Any takers? PM me.

I live in the las cruces/el paso area. I am new to the area, but will continue my occasional trips to the plains for my seventh season. I have a WXWorks along with many other electronic aids. If you would be interested in chasing with me this season please pm me. I chase in an Xterra and have plenty of room.

I just wanted to carify about having someone shoot video for our chase team. We consider our storm footage a team effort, and everyone on the chase gets their own copy of the video whether they shot it or not. Basically that means if you are shooting footage for us (of the chase team)you won't be deprived of having the awesome tornado/storm video we get as well.

I'd like to find someone for my wife and I to chase with this year. We live in Newton, just north of Wichita. Neither of us have chased before, we would like to learn the ropes.

I'm a HAM and have a small radio. Also have GPS in our car and cellular internet. We will be subscribing to WeatherTAP before too long too.

If I may offer, and not to threadjack, search the forums regarding GRlevel3 and WeatherTap. You'll find some interesting info. I have experience with both if you want to PM me for some advise if you still have questions after looking around.

I am interested

I am always interested in joining a chase team. I have always went alone. I have Mobile Threat Net Plus, instrumentation, and alway eager to go at a moments notice. I am located off I-44 in Springfield, Missouri.

Someone from Belgium had emailed me this and thought I could pass it along to someone who might be able to help.

Hi,

I came across your website, I hope you don’t mind I drop you a mail as I hope you might help me out.
My name is Marny, I live in Belgium where I am an active storm chaser. Two year ago I visited the States, Oklahoma and Denver during the storm season. We were a bit unlucky with the weather at that time, so I would like to return this season.
As I will be coming alone, I would like to team up with someone local or a local team, end may beginning june or so.
I will have a SUV 4WD available for the whole period, I have a special driving training so I can offer myself and vehicle as part of a group or backup or whatever would be conveniant.

Perhaps you would like to find out more about me or hook me up with someone who would be interrested.

I am a pilot, so if the weather is too good to chase, I can take you up for a trip ;-)

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read my mail and maybe I’ll talk to you later.

Kind regards,

Marny

I would not mind chasing two maybe three times during the main tornado season. I am more into the damage tornadoes create and surveys but would not mind getting out at least a couple times a year to chase. I dont think I could chase days upon end because money has been tight. If anybody passes through the Olathe, Kansas area I could give you around $40 or $50 to split the gas. If anyone is interested my number is 913-780-0111.
