Chase Partner Thread 2009

Anyone willing to let a newbie join them? 5/29-6/2/09 TX/OK/KS etc..

Hi, I'm Jim, I'm new to the forums, and am planning on being in the heart of storm country over Memorial Day weekend. Right now I'm alone, I'm looking to join a group that's going to be chasing anyday between 5/29 and 6/2/09 in the TX/OK/KS and surrounding states region. I currently have plans to base out of Oklahoma City. I have some basic chasing experience, and am interested in learning more. If you're willing to add another person (I promise I'll behave), please contact me privately and I'll be happy to answer questions and talk further with you.

I too am looking for a Nebraska chase partner for me and my husband to ride along with or follow this 09 season. We live in Arapahoe, NE.

Guess I found the thread where you save money by teaming up for storm chasing. My name is Robert Hettchen. I live in Coldwater, Ks. I have been chasing storms since I could ride my bike. I used to chase them down the dirt roads in comanche county. Now I am 27 years old Ive had money and lost it all and made some more. but one thing I have never needed was all the fancy equiptment that is being used these days. I do keep an eye on SPC's convective outlook and plan my chases on that. But after I leave my house I have a map, a 35mpg ford escort, and I do have MyCast weather on my Alltel phone.Which is just an ordinary 4 year old cameraless moto. I do however have a fairly decent canon camera. I have chased 7 times so far this year and have seen 4 tornados. not bad for only may 4th. I would enjoy the company of someone that shares the excitement and love of storm chasing. check out my myspace. http://www.myspace.com/410032428 I am new to stormtrack and still working on getting some pics up and such. I should be in nc/nw tx tomorrow for what appears to possibly be an amazing afternoon. Anyone interested in going or is goin alone and will be through this general area on the way to tx pm me if youd like to meet up. thanks for your time and I hope to get to know some people on here.

Hello everyone. My names Dave and I am from Saint Paul Minnesota. I am looking for a chase/spotter partner for Minnesota, Western Wisconsin, and Norther Iowa.
I am Skywarn trained, and have been obsessed with the weather for a long time, but due to being in the military I never had the time to get more involved until now.
Drop me a PM if interested.
Thanks

Sorry everyone. I changed my user name since I missed that part in the rules.
I am still looking for a chase/spotting partner if anyone from my area is interested.
Drop me a PM if interested.

Rookie chaser here in Topeka looking for somebody experienced to tag along with. My Jeep is outfitted with GRLevel3, Verizon Broadband, CB, GPS and light rescue gear. I'm currently working on getting a HAM..

If there's anybody in the area interested in giving me some real-time education, I'd appreciate a phone call, # in sig.

Thanks!

I'd be interested in teaming up/splitting gas costs with somebody for some Upper Midwest regional chases this year, possibly starting this coming Wednesday depending on how the tornado potential shapes up in eastern Iowa/northern Illinois. Drop me a PM or AIM.

Hi all, Im in OKC for the next week or so, and am desparate to hook up with another chaser(s). I dont have a car or technology, I do have a HAMM license, and have 3 years basic chase experience. Will happily contribute to gas / food / motel costs. If you want to enjoy the spectacle of a Brit driving Im happy to help out with that too! Will travel anywhere and at any length to get them there storms :) I only bite when provoked.

PM if you are interested!

Hello, All. Hope your chasing season season has been successful thus far.

I'll be arriving in OKC on 11-MAY, and I'm looking for a chase partner(s) from 12-MAY through probably 17 or 18-MAY, possibly longer if conditions look favorable. There is one day, Thursday, 14-MAY, where I will need to be in OKC for a morning business meeting, otherwise it's a chase trip.

Typically I rent a vehicle in OKC and this trip will be no exception.

I travel with two laptops, Stormlab Supercharged (with Allisonhouse data feeds, including Level 2 data), mobile Sprint internet, 2M/440 amateur radios, Garmin and DeLorme GPS units, desire, and lots of snacks and beverages.

I'm not the best forecaster in the world and will quickly defer to those more qualified than I when it comes to targets. I'm more than comfortable being the designated driver, and my record is spotless.

Drop me PM, and good luck to everyone!!

This is quite last minute of me . . .

If anyone is heading east on 80 to chase Illinois on Wednesday, may be looking to join up. (I live right off 80 in Iowa City)

My vehicle has been revealed to be not chase worthy...

Could help out with gas and bring experience as a chaser... (and would be in contact with a few other chases out there on this one)

Have weather radio and laptop with Grlevelx, though, no data card currently.

I'm 90% sure I'm leaving Atlanta tomorrow morning around 3ish for St. Louis area, I have a empty seat if anyone wants to tag along for half expenses. Returning Thursday real early, have to be back in Atlanta by 4 PM for baseball game.

PM if interested.

I have my own vehicle and was planning on doing this all solo, but I would love to tag along with an experienced group/individual. My car is an all wheel drive sedan that has a laptop w/ sprint internet, ham radio, and digital police scanner. I have room for 1 more person if someone doesn't have a vehicle. Currently I'm camping in keystone state park just west of Tulsa, OK. I live in Michigan so I don't mind relocating to another place as a "home base". I'm pretty easy to get along with, whether you want to core punch or wait for a better outlook I'm with ya :-P

I'll probably stay around till first week of June or so.

NE/KS 5/30-6/1

Hi, I'm going to be in the Nebraska/Kansas area Sat 5/30 through Mon 6/1 and am looking to join anyone already planning to chase. If you want to make a team/caravan, contact me. This is a first time for me, but I've got the basics for chasing equipment-wise, and am focused on learning with safety as the highest priority.
