Seeking Driver / Chase Partner (In or close to Tulsa OK)

My driver for the season fell through so I need someone to drive the bus. Looking for someone that is a good responsible driver that doesn't mind bending a few speed limits now and again when need be. You must be able to get away for chase days therefore work can't get in the way. If it looks like a good setup you need to be able to go.

I will provide the truck with GR3 and Allison House data. Wireless broad band with high gain antenna and amp, ham radios times 3 on 2 meter and 70cm, and all the forecasting, gps, etc. Live streaming and HD video and SLR photo setup as well.

If you are interested please PM me. Already had two chases this year and one was a successful intercept. However, going solo is too hard to do when you need to be able to process data and stay safe.

Just be willing to split gas and know north from south, etc...

I am looking to get with someone to chase with. I have been doing just some local chasing for a long time but now trying to get more into the forecasting and using equipment. I would like to get with someone or several someones that has the equipment and can help out in maybe teaching me more the art of forecasting. I have some camera equipment nothing super great but works for me for now. I have a laptop that I can use but don't have any mobile set up at this time wanting to get out there and see what works and what does not work. I was a police officer for 8 years so have some connections in Kansas anyway lol. Would love to get out on a few chases this season. I live in Great Bend, Kansas well a small town out side of Great Bend but work in Great Bend and everyone seems to know where it is better then when I say I live in Ellinwood, Kansas. It would be great to have the chance to get out there and learn from a seasoned chaser.

Regarding chase partner

Hi!!

My name is Uday Verma.I am from India and doing my MS at UNL.I am based in lincoln,NE but can come to kansas,MO,Oklahoma or whereever required.I can take approx 10 days including weekends anytime in May or any other month required .I would really love to go on chase for tornadoes with some experienced person.I tried couple of times last year but didn't see anything since I don't have formal education in this.I drove for almost 18 hrs at stretch one day with coffee breaks but no result. So what I can do is: I can drive non stop for long periods ,shoot videos ,pitch in for gas, food and stay.More over I have my friends at kansas city,st louis ,tulsa and ames,Iowa so if required to make base any of these places we can stay with no hesitation.I am expert at finding good deals for staying anywhere.I am very flexible with anything like anybdy smoking ,drinking being without food and water for whole day :) or anyhting I can't think of on the top of my head.Forgot to mention I am good at cooking too.So if I suit the profile please let me know.

Thanks.

I'll throw this out there. I'm looking for people to come chasing with me. I have an Xterra, and as based off my last chase a week ago, plenty of available seats. I've had people tag along with me before and am used to people with little to no experience coming along. I also have allot of equipment to aid in the chase, wx-worx, cellular internet, scanner, etc. I'm currently planning my "chasecation" in the second half of may. I'm from New Mexico, so I'm not exactly sure how we would meet up, since people probably would not want to drive all the way to NM. This is my seventh year chasing, if you'd like to come along or have more questions pm me (exact dates are a little up in the air). If you do come along the only thing I ask is to cover half or third the gas (depending on if there are two or three people...), your food, and hotel costs (happy to share room to cut down on costs too).

Cheers

Bobby

Bobby, I'll throw this out there. I plan on being in Hays, KS on 21 May. I'll be in the Plains until 7 June. Being is how I live so far away I figure I'll start in Hays, and blow with the weather; way too far to go home. I can throw a sack on the ground, or be motel militia.

I might have some leeway on leaving a week earlier, with a return date a week earlier.

Is an Xterra 4WD? I've a 2WD Explorer.

I'm "low tech". I have Delorme charts from NE to TX, (I figure that will be my roaming range) cellular internet, 300w inverter, 100w inverter, (battery charging, cellular phone using, et al) NOAA radio, 2 still cameras, (different glass) and a Mark One Eyeball.

I figure, if you want, we can get one vehicle stored wherever we meet, split gas, and hotel. Groceries, and gedunk is on your own.

This isn't an exclusive message. My funds, and plans are to go solo. Anybody pitching in would be lagniappe. I hope to meet up with some of the fine folk I met at NCSS. I've PM'd several members with similar time frames for "chasecation" with no response, go figure.

Anybody interested, reply to the thread, or it you want to give me a PM, thasallright.

Newbies - Veteran Chaser Needs Ride
Truman Boyer here...
Been chasing since 1985 - Great Plains since 1986
44 Tornadoes not counting spin ups, funnels, and gustnadoes.

I drive from Maryland nearly every year, and mostly chase solo.
I just filed my tax returns and found I cannot afford to go it alone this year.
I have enough frequent flier miles to get to any major airport in the Plains.
I am thinking about a 10 day to two-week chase surrounding Memorial Day.
I can help pay for gas, etc. if you will host me for the duration. I am used to
traveling on-the-cheap so sleeping in cars, rest stops, is second nature to me.
"The mission comes first".

If you want to see tornadoes, I can get you there as safely as anyone.
I cannot promise them. of course, but I want to get there as much as you do.
I would also like a steak dinner for every tornado I deliver.
I was a professor for 15 years so I can teach anyone who wants to learn.

Let me know.

Dallas-Ft Worth area

Looking for storm chasing partner(s) in the DFW area. On weekdays I can take off afternoons for North Texas and on particularly good days in OK/KS I will take off the whole day. I have mobile broadband Internet, GPS, and a network of mets that can nowcast when Internet is not available. My chase style is generally 80s NOVA, not super close, but I can get closer if you want. Mets, spotters, news, enthusiasts, serious students and other are all cool. I can do all the forecasting if needed or consensus with another forecaster. Prefer departure from northern suburbs of Dallas, but I’m flexible. Looking forward to some good chasing. You can reach me by private message. Thanks!

I am a professional photographer and part-time chaser from Regina, Saskatchewan Canada. Along with a partner we will be in the central plains, OK, KS, NB for two weeks at the beginning of May(May 2nd to the 14th). We are looking for an experienced chase partner to join us when we get down there.

We are filming a documentary about the characters and culture of storm chasing. Our goal obviously is to get up close and personal with a twister, but we are also looking for lightning, photogenic storms, aftermath, chaser convergence, colourful characters and the like. We have the best of equipment when it comes to Video and Stills but lack the high tech toys of chasing. We do have laptops and air card, inverters etc, but not the weather radios and specialty weather forecasting tools.

If anyone is interested in meeting up with us along the way and spending a couple of weeks or a couple of days on the road with us, I would love to hear from you.

First year out of OU with advanced Degree in Meteorology will be chasing out of OKC May 9th - 11th give or take a couple days, need to make up for last year where chasing was ditched for school work. Please contact me or Dave Hodges about chasing with us. Preferably want to chase with ppl that are less opinionated about target area (j/k). Qualifications for chasing with us include: must be respectful of all ppl involved, paying fair share of gas and hotel, and of course enjoy discussing meteorology often.

Just pm me if you are intersted in chasing or talking about meteorology (always interested in meeting new ppl).

Eddie

Hello, my name is Jennifer Jackson. I posted once but only received a few replies. I would very much like it if anyone had an extra seat anytime they are near North Platte, NE. I used to chase with my husband, but we are now in the process of divorce. I will be completely depressed if I dont get to go out this year. I am more than willing to pitch in on gas, motel, etc. Just PM me. Thanks.

Hello, Chris Strunk here. I am in Ames, Iowa and I will be around for the rest of the spring and summer. I am mainly looking to chase in Iowa, unless some other opportunity presents itself. I am an amateur with limited $$$. I am pretty laid back (at least that's what my friends say). I don't have any of the bells and whistles that most chasers do. I am just looking for anyone in the area who would ever want to meet up and go for a chase. I would be willing to split gas money. If you are interested, let me know by sending me a PM!
