For those of you wondering why the FWD area was threatened by tornadic storms tonight...just take a look at the FWD sounding. I don't think I've ever seen a warm sector sounding with 894 helicity...and for the fun of it, check out the hodograph.

This has been a day to remember, even though it wasn't an outbreak. Convection from early in the day, multiple squall lines, supercells that made your jaw drop. Helicity of 894...sheesh. I'm very pleased with my decision to sit this one out, though. Chasing supe's S of I-10 is just nuts.
