4/10/09 NOW: LA, MS, AL, GA, TN, KY

The cell now passing over Russelville AL has a great hook and pretty good velocity couplet. If there is a tornado on the ground it is probably very near or over the town.

A LOT OF AIRBORN DEBRIS IS REPORTED IN SOUTHEASTERN WILSON COUNTY AT
THIS TIME. (1:13pm CDT)

This is not a good sign.:( I hope everyone is OK is the Murfreesboro area. Another potentially dangerous situation is occurring in Franklin County, AL. A possible tornado is located about 1 mile south of Russellville, AL as of 1:26pm CDT.

Dangerous situation developing in Franklin County, AL:

...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 130 PM CDT FOR
NORTHEASTERN FRANKLIN COUNTY...

AT 124 PM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR DETECTED A TORNADIC CIRCULATION NEAR
ROCKWOOD...OR ABOUT 6 MILES SOUTHWEST OF RUSSELLVILLE...MOVING EAST
AT 40 MPH.

The cell has developed a tight hook over the last few frames - the circulation should
pass just south/southeast of Russelville in the next few minutes... however several smaller towns
are in the path of circulation.

The Murfreesboro cell is completely hooked out - GR3 currently showing 115 kts of g2g shear. I'm betting the tornado that struck Murfreesboro is still on the ground, chewing up the Tennessee countryside...

WKRN Nashville has a couple of pics and a short vid up of the tornado. Looks like a fat stovepipe/wedge. This is heading my way...BUT I have in-laws in town so no chasie for me. :(

The lowering on Dennis's stream is growing more pronounced by the minute and a nice clear slot is developing- this thing certainly looks like it's getting ready to rock and roll.

The cell entering Madison Co., AL now has a TVS and appears to be strengthening. The circulation is headed directly towards the northern side of the Huntsville metro area in the next twenty to thirty minutes.

EDIT: TVS suddenly disappeared, but yet the storm has a more impressive radar signature than in the last scan... hmm.

Just got off the phone with a friend who works and lives in Murfreesboro,TN. She told me her and her coworkers went outside and watched the tornado develop and touch down right from where she works. She also told me that the tornado leveled a new strip mall in that area. She said that there were reports of dead people in the streets that got caught in their vehicles. She gave me a website link that you guys can see the tornado and report. I will say this I have chased a lot of storms and have seen first hand what they can do but when she was describing the events leading up to them taking shelter, it left me without words. It hits home when you really since the fear in someones voice that is that close to you.

My heart and prayers go out to those that are suffering from the tragedy.
