3-28-07 NOW: SD/NE/KS/OK/TX

Will virtually be in Shattuck, OK, about 2130Z. Gas, data, and window time. The Phoenix nowcaster is waiting for the vis sat to update, but thinks he sees a vertical development Of Interest back behind me near Canadian.

David isn't kidding...visible satellite definately shows the aforementioned TCu beginning to develop... CIN virtually gone, good luck to all today.

just observed... NICE Echo trying to build NW of Childress.

BIG BIG towers popping off to my east and southeast right now. Looks like the show is on.

This is the area I was just talking about a few minutes ago where I said the storms were starting to erupt. It sounds like you are right on top of (or below) them.

EDIT: Now if Amarillo would just switch out of clear air mode we will get images quicker than every 9 minutes.

The dryline looks like its starting to bulge W of AMA. Also the towers David mentioned are exploding on the vis sat. The cell in Swisher co Tx already showing signs of rotation.

Today

According to the Dodge City Kansas radar a couple of showers are rapidly developing in northwest Kansas south of Goodland and Colby:D

Cell in Collingsworth looking pretty good. Showing up nice on radar and on vis Sat.

Good luck to all chasing the first major event of the year. I hope to one day get the chance to chase them myself in the Plains. I will pray that everyone stays safe, and gets excellent pics and video. Yall have a good chase, and can't wait to see the reports start pouring in.

TX Panhandle Magic ??

Nice isolated cell developing over nw of Wellington in Collingsworth Co. TX and other soon to be supercells back towards the Caprock. Looks like things are going to get very busy in about a hour from now.

Hopefully David Drummond is able to catch the Collingsworth County, TX cell. It is rapidly becoming severe and is one to put the money on for a good show. Tops building from 18,000 feet to 26,000 feet in the past 5 minutes.

LPATS is showing the first lightning strike is in the vicinity of Plainview, the first thunderstrom of the soon to be outbreak. As we say in the Navy, "****s about to hit fan REAL quick"

That's a tough choice, the better thermodynamics and kinematics are juxtaposed further south, just northeast of Lubbock. It's hard to stay put in your target when you have a storm developing within range. There's surely going to be additional storms developing in the Floyd County vicinity.
