Are you going to the 2010 Chaser Conference

I think I would want to go to this... its not too far from my house so getting there should not be much of a problem. Getting the time off from work? That may be the problem.

I'm thinking about getting a vendor table to sell DVDs. If anyone wants to share a table and split costs, let me know. There's usually plenty of room for 2 people per vendor table if you're only selling a one specific item.

I will be there this year with a brand new forecasting book.

The last time I made it up there was 2006. That's quite a stroll down memory lane.

Fortunately I made it out of there the same day. Driving back the night of February 19, I suddenly drove into dense fog around Claude TX and was in it all the way to Wichita Falls, about 150 miles. Staring into the void for 4 hours was a sheer test of stamina.

Other conferences were pretty memorable.

In 2005 I flew to Denver, but driving the 8 miles to the airport I got the only traffic ticket I've ever received this decade. Lots of fun doing online traffic school.

In 2004 I slogged back all the way to Austin with salmonella from that Wendys near the old DIA location. But Gabriel (8 weeks old) got to attend that conference... he drew lots of attention and got a nice gift from Angie Norris.

In 2003, the events one morning of the conference started with the space shuttle breakup.

In 2001 or 2002 we had a snowstorm east of Denver the night the conference closed, and we seemed to keep pace with a chaser with the license plate COPUNCH -- all night to Guymon. Little did I know he would later be our legendary Jeff Wear.

I don't know what it is about Denver but I would say 2010 will be interesting too.

I might have to take you up on this Scott. I really need to unload the last of the Hurricane Charley and September's Fury DVDs I still have.

Good day all,

I might have to take you up on this Scott. I really need to unload the last of the Hurricane Charley and September's Fury DVDs I still have.

I am still on the fence about going as I am not sure who else is. Plus, 2009, as you know, netted me with almost no new footage.

Jason, if you are going, maybe I'll consider it.

I wonder what the attendance numbers have been over the years? What is the highest number of attendees?

I stopped Tim Samaras at last year's convention to ask him how many people were in attendance and if my memory serves me correctly it was close to 250. That may be just a tad bit on the high side but that's what I remember him saying.

This will be my first Chaser-con. I am not sure if I will be flying in or driving yet. If i can muster a group together from the Great lakes area, IL/IN/KY/OH etc, it will be sharing the driving / gas costs etc. :) If anyone is interested in coming with my "party" let me know! We can get something figured out.

Good day all,

I decided to go ... Bringing buddy of mine from FL too who wants to get into chasing too!

I'm headed out on the 11th so maybe we can get a snow mobiling trip going Friday morning?

Oh, and more importantly, I am NOT taking American Airlines out there this time either.

Last year was my first Convention, and I can't wait for this one. Jenn and I hope to meet folks from Stormtrack -- I'd like to put some faces with the names!

Come up to Chicago..... we will take a train there. 95 bucks each way. Still 30+ dollars cheaper than airfare and who knows how much from driving. 180 dollars + tax. Not bad. Adam and I for sure will be going, not sure who wants to join us along the way if the train ride is the way you want to go! http://www.amtrak.com/servlet/ContentServer/AM_Route_C/1237608341980/1237405732511

I need to change my vote from too early to tell to Not going. As much as I'd love to go, not enough of my old chase buddies are going, and in 2008 (last time I attended) didn't really socialize as much as I wanted to because of the presentation schedule. I will also miss the trek out to the mountains to play in the snow, but I did have my fill of mountain snows in September down in Chile. I'm also likely to be taking more college courses and with a trip to the Florida Keys the following month, I might not be able to take off for the convention (school is priority of course).

In 2009, didn't one of the stream sites stream the convention. I would consider watching that. And I always thought it would be great to have the conference presentations (and maybe even video night) be recorded and edited up into a DVD to be sold. I'd pay $30 for that.
