I'm planning on flying or driving in early in the week, or coming in Friday and staying through the next week and visiting some friends in Beulah and spending a day or two in the mountains. I believe this'll be my 5th convention (2002, 2003, 2005, 2008...I hope I'm not forgetting one).

2002 was definitely my favorite. It was a small group (50-70) of core chasers with many locals. Practically everyone knew everyone elses name. Oh how times have changed!

Remember too, that flying in and out of Denver Airport during the weekdays (Tues, Wed, Thurs) can significantly reduce the cost of the flight. If the hotel is too expensive for the additional days, look for cheaper places nearby or near the airport. I did this at the end of a trip one year. Got a Comfort Inn on the cheap (although they misquoted me on the phone).

Im planning on bein there and splitting a room with my chase partner Matt Robinson. We will be driving out Friday morning. Looking forward to it!

P.S. Steve that pic of us stuck in the elevator is still totally epic!

Unfortunately I'm out this year, again. The convention is a good time, but if I manage to scrape up a thousand bucks of extra spending money between now and February, it's going into the spring/summer chasing fund. Attending the convention usually ends up costing me in the neighborhood of $800.

Hey everyone. I work for a Carlson and a Hilton hotel and can get my employee discount on a room and I am willing to split it with who ever needs to save some cash. The hotel will be very close to the convention and significantly cheaper. I will be arriving Thursday night and departing Monday morning. I will be driving and as it stands now I will have room in my car so if you live along 412 in Oklahoma or I70 or 135 in Kansas and need a ride let me know. This will be my third straight attendance to the NSCC.

I will certainly be there since I live 20 minutes away from the hotel. I am very much looking forward to meeting new people as always. Great kick off before the chase season gets going full swing!

I wonder what the attendance numbers have been over the years? What is the highest number of attendees?

Good day all,

I'll love to go ... But I have no new stuff to "show and tell" this year ;-(

Also, if they cancel my flight, does that mean 2010 would be a bad chase year for me?

The best time I ever had at the convention was 2008, that was one of my best chase years.

Only kidding ... Still too early to decide if I save time off for chasing, or go.

LOL that reminds me. I wonder if there have been any more chase vehicles stolen since that one...as in running car with windows busted out left in its place stolen. So strange. Thought for those taking gear that won't pull out easily lol.

LMAO! Yes, Matt and I were just wondering about that just a few months ago. Yes Scott, those were the days!!! WOW at how fast times have flown by. We will be trying to make it out this year. If nothing slips, rips, or tears....:)

There are some decent airfare deals right now. Could someone directly involved in this event please post definite dates?
Thanks

I am not involved other than attending, but I did check the web site http://chasercon.com/

Thanks for checking out the all-new ChaserCon 2010 website!
The 12th annual National Storm Chaser Convention will take place February 12-14, 2010 at the Red Lion Hotel, 4040 Quebec Street, Denver, Colorado.
Stay tuned to this website for more information coming soon...

Thanks Bob. Looks like our hedge was right and we ended up with some decent deals on lodging and airfare!
Kudos to the SS guys for the job on the new site. Looks less cluttered and more friendly.
