12/31/10 FCST TX/LA/MS/AL/AR

I am really surprised that spc did not slap a moderate risk for a good chunk of MS for today. The RUC is screaming tornadic supercells late this afternoon and early evening and a few tornadoes could be strong. SRH near 500 m/s, li's near -4, cape around 1250 j/kg, and nice backed surface winds. Not to mention there should be some clearing taking place across the area per visibile satellite this morning. Yikes!!!!

We're near Lincoln, IL as of now. Looks like the new target area will be in west IL. Visible satellite isn't showing anything too good, so hoping the instability will be sufficient to keep the storms in MO going for a while into IL. The tornado warned storm to the north looks decent, although quite messy despite a nice looking couplet. One good sign at this point is the storms seem to be doing okay in a rather low CAPE environment, so let's hope the trend continues.
