Winter Storm for CO/KS/NE- Feb 3-4

Looks like areas of Colorado, Kansas, and Nebraska are getting hit with some decent snowfall across this region. Currently showing areas in and around Denver, CO - Grand Island, Ogallala, Sydney, and North Platte, NE areas will receive additional accumulations of 4-6" through the next 12 hours. In addition winds approaching 35 mph will cause some blizzard like conditions across the CO/KS border areas. I'll have pics from Offutt AFB once we make the switch to snow. Sounds like a few places in north Omaha are mixing with sleet.

There has been some talk about thundersnow along the I80 corridor from 3am-noon on Saturday, i plan to stay up the whole night, so maybe i can get a few shots or video of thundersnow, if it does happen.

Quite a few other states affected by this storm, too, including several of the Rocky Mountain states besides CO and now also IA and perhaps IL. Northern New Mexico was on the southern edge of this system, but still received up to six inches of snow in high desert areas such as the Santa Fe area and anywhere from 7 to as much as 18 inches in the mountains. The convective nature of the snow in New Mexico - I think a couple spots even got thundersnow, although I did not personally experience any of that - offered some nice opportunities for winter storm structure photography. Here are a couple pictures, one looking at the storm from a distance on 2/2 and the other from inside it on 2/3:

Pictures in Lincoln, NE. One of heavy snow about 11pm last night and two of broken trees branches today. Around a foot of very wet snow causing downed trees and powerlines.

Not a lot to report in most areas of the state of IA for this one, just confined to SW IA. There is some totals reaching around 12 inches it appears out in extreme Western IA as I see a report for Little Sioux with 12". Many totals across SW IA seem to be more like between 5 and 9 inches so far though.

This was taken just 1m north of Offutt AFB in Nebraska at 3am, switch over was about 3 hours prior to the shot, not much on the concrete, but a good inch on the compacted on the grass.

5am, something finally plowable, but boy was it HEAVY!!!

Daybreak around 7am, 2nd trip out shoveling snow, still HEAVY!

11am, Offutt AFB reported 8.5"
Snow was pretty much sticking to everything making it look very pretty outside. Snow was having problems piling up on the concrete due to the warm surface.
