Windows 7 64-bit serial port adapter

I acquired an almost new Kenwood TM D710A from a guy I know strapped for cash. I installed it in my truck and manually programmed a couple of channels, etc. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with and USB/express card to Serial port adapters for 64-bit. All of my laptops are 64-bit and running Windows 7 Pro or ultimate and I have tried 5 different USB-Serial adapters to try to connect to the radio so I can program it in my truck? If not perhaps someone has an old laptop that has a serial port they would like to part with cheap?

Last week I bought the Cables To Go 1.5 ft. USB to DB9 Serial Adapter Cable Model 26886 from NewEgg.com. $24.00 plus S&H. Works great on my Windows 7

I am connecting to a TM 700 via a USB to RS232 cable on my W7 64Bit chase laptop so it does work!

You need to ensure that the com port is set up correctly under W7 as often Com 1 and 2 are already in use with the laptop modem etc.

Greg, you are using 64-bit? Stuart which cable are you using? I have tried numerous ones w/o any luck.
