I thought it would be fun to introduce a little game that would allow readers to test and improve their weather knowledge.

The concept is simple and familiar: A question is asked, people respond, and the first person to answer correctly (as determined by the person who asked the question) asks the next question.

The questions can range all across the field of weather, but while the answers can be challenging, they should be accessible to the average, well-informed forum reader.

Got it? Okay, I'll start:

The Brits have a meteorological term that describes both a funnel cloud and a tornado. We don't use it here that I'm aware. What is it?

Schlauch? That's a new one on me! Nope, that isn't it.
I'll be back this evening to check on more responses. If no one has gotten it by then, I'll toss out a clue.

I'm not sure of this one....but I have always liked their warning definitions: YELLOW= Be Aware ORANGE= Be Prepared and Red= Take ACTION. lol

It's not fun if you Google it, so I am interested in the answer!

Oh jeez that's right I have to come up with a new question.

What is the earliest recorded occurrence of the phenomenon pictured below?
