• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

VIDEO OF IOWA TORNADO

Neat-o. Devil's advocate here. Can't say what he did was very intelligent. He seemed confused of it's track and in a wait-and-see mode. It appeared weak as it approached, but the damage on the other end of town tells a different story. Could have been a fatal mistake on his part had it turned out any other way. Regardless, non-violent but very interesting video, even moreso to the man holding the camera, it's very personal and the feelings must still be raw.

Well, I finally got it to work. Basically all I did was a windows media player update, and it worked. Apparently my media player was a bit out of date....

Very impressive footage. I have to agree that it was one of the best I've seen.

Glad I'm not the only who things the guy(s) were nuts.

My video might have ended up looking like that if I had stayed outside during the Stoughton tornado, but I either wasn't dumb enough or wasn't brave enough. I guess it must be the latter since they're still alive. :)

Well, I can not get the video to work, at all. I tried the direct linking to the video protocol, and I tried the link, with both of my browsers, but it just isn't working.

Hey Andrew, I couldn't get it to go either. I did a windows update, and downloaded the new media player (10) and it worked.

Hope you can get it to work..

This a post on behalf of Elise Johnson, Rusty Lord, and Jacob Petersen-Perlman (some non-ST Iowa chasers).

They saw the Woodward tornado and the tornado to the north of Ames.
