TWISTER 2 in 3-D?

I'm all for a sequel, but I hope it's not in 3-D. I saw Final Destination 5 or whatever it's called last summer, and that was in 3-D, and that was about the stupidest thing to have to wear a pair of glasses to watch the movie, not only that but that crap hurt my eyes for 2 hours.

You are probably in the minority as most people don't have a problem with 3D glasses and movies with 3D are doing very good right now (Avatar) so 3D movies are only going to increase. You don't have to wear the glasses. The movies look fine enough with out them. Tornadoes in 3D would be fun to watch.

Actually, the 3d movie does not look fine without the glasses., but they always make a 2d version as well, so you can always choose to go to the 2d screen instead. Not all theaters are equipped to handle the 3d version, and the DVD is always in 2d.

I have actually seen tornadoes in 3d. I have some on video. I was thinking of putting out a 3d video a few years ago, but never got around to it. Maybe someday.

I didn't think the parts of Avatar I saw without the glasses was bad. Some of the DVD's can be bought in 3D. Journey to the center of the Earth came out in 3D for DVD with cheap glasses.

If anobody did not know Twister was the second highest grosing film of 1996 only losing to Independence Day.

The whole imax/ 3-d is really catching on. I love those movies though. Im the type of person who needs the sound loud with the largest screen possible. That way I can ignore all the jags in the theatre who are twittering instead of watching the movie.

I dont go to movies to watch scientific facts and people who do are only cheating themselves. Twister was entertaining and Im sure Twister 2 will be too. Id definitely go see it.

I think with the likes of 'Twister Sisters', 'Storm Chasers', and 'Tornado Road' it would be difficult to make such a movie successful to the masses. By that I mean, with all the 'reality tv' why bother? But, I know that the weather-minded would love it, and I'd totally go see it and own it on blu-ray regardless!

I kinda disagree. The "reality" tv stuff is a different animal from a movie, even though most of it is fabricated, over-emphasized, and staged. The "characters" have real names, identities, lives. Basically, despite television's attempts to market their product as "reality" while trying everything in their power to make it the complete opposite, the people involved are still in fact actual people. That's huge IMO.

On the other hand, a movie really can be anything the creators want, down to the people. There are no "reality" bounds within the scope of a fictional motion picture. The public eats up the reality chaser crap because of Twister. IMO a sequel would be wildly-popular, and the biggest demographic wouldn't be wx-enthusiasts (snobs who would revel in simply pointing out technical flaws fearing if they didn't, others in the room would think they're stupid) but rather the youtube zombies.

Maybe it's just me, but the reality stuff loses a lot of luster and mystery when I know everyone involved and chased half the events myself. A movie is unknown, full of possibility and surprises. Unlike most chasers (and people in general) in 2010, I like not knowing everything.

If the project does go (and I highly doubt it will), two things:

1) who is going to get the fun of being a 'consultant' on that project. Man is that going to be a fight there.

2) how many threads on ST and other places are we going to have to read about how this is going to ruin chasing with the amount of 'new' or 'yahoo' chasers will be out in the plains should this film become a reality. OH DEAR GOD! :D

Good day all,

I agree with Jason F very well.

The first movie (I thought it was cool at the time (1996) when I was much younger and stupid), but by now-a-days, it is a joke. It even portrays storm chasers as wreckless people any trooper in Texas would shoot down let alone ticket them.

Before there is any sequel, there MUST be some serious homework done before production. Reed Timmer, oh God, his footage makes any Twister movie slump in shame!

I`d love to see #2 as a matter of fact, I`d buy it and stick it beside #1 that's setting in my rather large movie collection ;)
I`m not much for 3D as I already have glasses and hate em but oh well ...lol

The first movie is really what sparked my interest in weather/tornadoes when I was about 6 years old so I'd love to see a sequel. The facebook group is definitely a good idea, joined it myself
