• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Threat Net & Vista?

Hope I'm not re-hashing an old topic.
I need to replace my old laptop (Win XP) that I've been running Threat-Net on for several years with reasonable success.
Most new laptops run Vista OS.
I don't see any references to Vista on the Baron site - perhaps I've overlooked it. I contacted them but still no reply.
Any comments about your experiences with this combo would be appreciated.

Thnx!
J

I was wondering about this too. I'm still on XP, but if my laptop ever fails I'd be in the same boat. So yes if anyone knows, I'd be interested to hear...

Jon, ironicallly I just fired up Threat Net on Vista for the first time a few days ago. So far most everything seems to be working okay, although there were a few issues:

1) I had to change the default power plan to "high performance." Otherwise when the computer was charging the graphics rendered painfully slow. Of course this probably has more to do with my hardware specs than anything.

2)When I went in to modify the the places and sensor databases under the "Settings" menu, it would not save to the file. I kept getting a "disk error" message (This would be, for example, if you wanted to make a certain airport observation display at a more distant range than it normally does, or show a city that you don't normally see when zoomed out.) After playing around for awhile, I actually had to go in and modify some user permissions and security settings before it finally allowed these changes to save. I recall that this wasn't necessary in XP.

Have any others out there noticed this?

Anyway, that's all I've encountered so far. But again, all of the "crucial" features seem to work just fine.
