Stormtrack donations

Cafe Press: I ordered a single Hanes grey t-shirt with my Threatening Skies logo imprinted on the front. $19 plus shipping. No minimum on the quantity.

contest let's get it going and time to rock and roll

I guess I started this idea for the contest.
I am glad some others are interested.

I would be happy, if some of you want and Tim wants,
to run the contest.
I would need the following info, ideas or help. (post in this thread or I can start a new thread as soon as the idea is sanctioned and info below is given
(1) Need time to start
(2) ending date
(3) judges Tim etc and how many 1-3? me ?
(4) limits?
(5) prizes for !st (2nd, 3rd?)
(6) 1 category or 2 or ?
(&) anything else?

thanks
:)

**

A contest would be nice and some of those logos used for April Fools day or just some asome lightning or tornado pictures etc would be asome. The question is if the staff have the time and want to do it.

Stormtrack Eric N shirt - how about this idea

Well let me shoot this out for your information and ideas.
I still think a stormtrack smokin (no butt ugly like I have seen ) shirt could boost sales for the forum and display our fondness for chasing etc.

Many of you know and feel that Eric Nguyen's Mulvane tornado shot is one of the best ever.

How about a memorial to him using that shot ( I mean is there any better?)
(1) with permission and using that superb tornado shot (I have no idea how the rights can be secured to do this)
(2) possibly a little shot of him in a corner as a tribute or better yes on the sleeve or elsewhere
(3) other info
(4) part of the remuneration from the shirt could go to stormtrack and possibly part of it to Eric's family to cover costs etc

Ideas, etc welcome. What do you think?

I sure like the idea a lot. Who wouldn't buy one to help out and have a photo of that great Mulvane shot on a shirt to wear? I most defintely would!!!

I decided to bump this thread back up towards the top because I'm sure the website hasn't gotten any ad revenue since the reset to clear last week's problem. Not only did the ads disappear, but so did the donation link on the front page. :(

I'm still not in a position to donate, so maybe bringing this back to everyone's attention will help bring in a few bucks. I might be able to cut loose a few dollars after Monday. :)

Stormtrack shirt

I still think we need a real nice stormtrack shirt instead of the butt ugly ones that are available.

(1) I'm thinking we either do a t shirt contest with chaser submissions
(2) or use Eric N. famous pic with a little pic or his name in memoriam on the sleeve or somewhere with his widow's permission etc. I know things are still fresh about his passing but I think it also a time to start thinking not only about a shirt but something in memory of his contributions to stormchasing etc

Either way or both possibly

I finally did it!

I've said I would, and I just did. I made a small donation.

I don't know if Tim V. is too busy to update the donors list on the link in post #1, but the last donation noted was in June.

I'm sure someone has donated since then!

I'm also sure no one here would like to see Stormtrack disappear. :(

Now, I need to concentrate on getting a vehicle and a camera so I can contribute something besides money.:)

I don't know if it would help I ran a gaming website for years. Their is a php paypal button they will display the amount needed (the goal) for the month and as people donate it will display how much more is needed. That really worked well for us we got our money every month after we put it on the site.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I think at this point the greater concern is not donations carrying the site forward, T-shirts being approved for sale, or even ads at the top of ST pages but rather the fact that Tim V. is Missing In Action.
I suspect even with site moderators working toward improvement, there will be nothing new happening here until he decides to either come back and make some decisions to support his members or step away from the helm and let some new, fresh blood bring this forum back to life.

If this were a business it would have been taken over by now...

didn't you see the post? Tim is back

didn't you see the post? Tim is back. Things worked out with family life and other stuff and he is ready to get going.

Didn't you see the date of my post? It was made before Tim made his "I'm back" post. Now maybe the donations will be updated and posted again.

I do apologize for lagging on the donations... I am slowly getting the site back up to speed. We just now got the Google Ads back up and I will be inserting the banner rotation shortly.

The donations link is here:
http://www.stormtrack.org/donate.htm

I will be moving the entire list of contributors to a special page on this forum -- it has not been updated since July. However I've got the list of contributors and every person will get their due acknowledgement, even if it's taking a little time to get it posted.

Tim
