Sprint users...FYI:

During a phone call with Sprint's customer service, the representative informed me of a new program she said was aimed at keeping Sprint customers. She said that it would renew my 2 year contract as of today but would NOT affect my eligibility of upgrade discounts (my phone is eligible for the $150.00 upgrade discount as of tomorrow 4-1-10). She said that I would still get the 150.00 off but my contract would renew again at the time that I upgrade. I thought it was a win-win, so I did it. She immediately credited me the $70.00 towards my current bill. Hey that's another tank of gas for chasing!

BTW, their customer service has vastly improved over the last few years! I was speaking to a nice lady in Kentucky within 3 minutes!

I wish Sprint was available in SE Nebraska, away from the metro areas. I like the idea of $69.99 for unlimited everything, vs Verizon's 69.99 for unlimited "talk" only, tack on another 20.00 for unlimited texting, and I'd imagine another $30 for 'unlimited' data, which I don't think Verizon's ever heard of (meaning truly unlimited data instead of this 5GB crap). The only things we can get here are Verizon or US Cellular, and no one mentions much about USC. I think they are a wanna-be in the big-dog cellphone world, IMO.

I might have to give them a try again. After being treated horrendously in 1998 and again in 2003 I wrote them off and swore they'd never get another penny from me. I am glad to hear that before they went out of business they have had the great epiphany that the customer is the backbone of the company. Maybe some others will follow their lead. Microsoft? You listening?

I'm gonna have to figure something out fast. I'm considering (very reluctantly) to check out AT&T...because of the iPhone only. I would stick with Sprint if I could keep my bill at the $30/mon. unlimited (yes..I'm still unlimited...I bust way through the 5g each month) plan. Time's up for me in May...so maybe I'll see if this or something else can get me back from the normal rate closer to my existing cost. Even $45-50 monthly would be OK. Of course sprint is only data for me. Verizon is still hand down the best for voice.

Sprint just renewed me a couple of weeks ago and I was able to continue my no data limit on my card and the discounted service rate. Picked up the new u301 at Bestbuy.

I also bought the U301 and used it on March 10th. I have since returned it and reactivated my U597. The problem with the U301 was it doesn't have a jack for an amplifer antenna which makes a lot fo difference in signal strength when chasing. Until they come out with a 4G card with an antenna jack I will stay with my current card.

I have been quite pleased with their customer service since I became a customer in 2006. I too also got the $70 credit recently for renewing my contract. I have never hit the 5 gig limit on the data card, and that included two months in the summer of 2008 where I watched three seasons of Lost online among my other activites online.

I renewed last week when I switched my card for the Overdrive . Even though I've not been under a contract for almost a year, I was able to keep my unlimited too. I missed out on the $70 deal but I'll be checking in very soon about that.
