• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Sprint Mobile Internet Connection on Cards

I use mine also at work with the laptop, so I don't use the company PC as much.
Does anyone know what the big differance is with the Rev. A cards besides maybe being 100 to 200 kbs faster?
Have you noticed a big difference in speed with the Rev. A cards?

YES!! My trips up and down I-76 have had blazing speeds... most of Denver is Rev-A enabled, so I get great speeds... I only notice the difference if I am running multiple internet-using programs or downloading huge files... but there is a noticable difference in those instances!

Next time you have a problem, try emailing ecare first. I have found it to be much faster and less stressful than dealing with the phone monkeys they have. Maybe it's having the problem written down in black and white to review, I don't know. I even got half price text messaging from ecare.

Yeah, I did that at one point in the midst of this issue and ended up getting a call back... worked out well cause ecare email and phone support were different and both offered me different "I'm sorry packages" which both showed up on my bills. Right now, I see I am still being charged for travel minutes, so I'll wait on my next bill to see if that is indeed the case. My plan includes all the minutes, so where travel minutes came in, I have no idea. None-the-less, they still haven't fixed my voice plan to how it was prior to their idiocies beginning.

Thanks Tony!

I did find this on EVDOinfo.com

Average Speeds by type of Network:
1xRTT 50 ~ 100kbps Download and Upload, bursts to 144kbps

EVDO Rev-0 400 ~ 700kbps Download, bursts to 2Mbps; 50 ~ 100kbps Upload, bursts to 144kbps

EVDO Rev-A 450 ~ 800kbps Download, bursts to 3Mbps; 300 ~ 600kbps Upload, bursts to 1.8Mbps

I've got the S620 which isn't Rev-A but I don't think the extra $60 is worth changing to the S720 if it's just going to increase my upload speeds. My 30 days to change is up tomorrow , so I'm kinda cramming some last minute knowledge in

I plan on using Cingular this year as they now offer a LEGAL phone tether option ($59.95/month). I talked to two different CS reps and they both told me I can go month to month. As long as you have an EDGE/3G compatible phone, this is a very viable option if you are an existing Cingular customer (as I am). If you just want to use Cingular for data, they require a 2 year contract.
