• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

PYKL3 version 2.3.1 for Android released

Have this on the HTC Evo 4G (non-3d) and it works failry well. Don't really notice it being slow or laggy as described

HTC Adreno chipsets have serious issues with graphic accelerations on line elements. e.g. they perform horribly. One can limit the GIS proximity as Adam mentioned, just be sure to change the GIS proximity to 1 or 1.5 and then switch to another site. You should see quite a difference.

Thanks for the advice guys...I have shut all other apps down, cleared memory, tried cutting out some of the layers, etc. and I am still getting the same results. The one and only way that it will run anywhere near usable is if I cut out all layers, then it does me no good. I will contact Joe directly. I just don't see anyway PYKL is going to run on my current phone :-(

I wanted to follow up on my problems. Last week I received a pretty big update to my Thunderbolt and whatever they fixed, fixed my problem with PYKL...it runs flawlessly now :-)

That's great to hear! I updated my phone with an unofficial 4.0 rom and that fixed all the issues I was having with pykl3. So it looks like everybody's happy now. Yay!

I have an HTC Thunderbolt as well. PYKL3 is running AMAZING now compared to what it used to! Very smooth when panning, and my looping behavior seems accurate. It's an entirely new beast now! I love it!

Glad someone figured out what was going on! :)

tablet support? Specifically Asus Transformer Prime?

A more helpful reply, Ed, is that per PYKL3's website it is supported on both mobile phones and tablets. The quote is next to the first (or top) screen shot by the lower left hand corner, but in any event this is what it says:

The users have spoken! PYKL3 Radar is the premier weather radar and information application on Android devices from mobiles to tablets.

I also see on the Google Play Store that as far as OS requirements are concerned, Android 2.1 and up are required. I found this information on the far right hand column under "About this App" at this link. You can also try Rob's suggestion and download the free trial and see if it works, but I thought I'd elaborate to help you out.

I don't know if this issue has been reported or not, but when I tether my phone to my laptop, I can't view PYKL3 radar because it says it can't access the external storage card. this should be saving everything to the phone's internal memory not the storage card.
