I don't think so; either they really want to show some balance or they just want some "eye-candy" to appeal to certain viewers. Personally I'm banking on the latter.

On a serious note, I have little confidence that they're looking for a female to contribute intellect to the program. I think John hit the nail on the head... they're just looking for "eye candy," and that's a shame. There are some pretty sharp gals (pardon the country slang) that I've met while chasing or who are involved in this activity.

It's sad that they can't advertise for a female chaser without the thread regarding the topic turning into a bunch of leering men talking about busts and seeing the BIG one.

But then - it's not exactly a serious topic so I really don't give a #$%^. LOL.

They're sure as hell not getting any interest from me - and considering the way they have advertised and phrased their request - I think that's understandable.

Why wouldn't the topic devolve into a jokingly sexist type of thing? Isn't that the point of even bringing the topic up in this thread in the first place? IMO the only thing ridiculous was the idea in the first place.....successive comments are funny to me.

Oh I agree - hence the LOLs in my previous post. I've got past being a "tight ass" about this sort of stuff - the breath being wasted in the course of it is far too precious. LOL.

I think a far more worthy question could be asked, however - such as why female chasers are still seen as some kind of "freak of nature" or "phenomenon" to be regarded with giggles and wide eyes. Shannon Key wrote a very articulated article on this topic - but it is sadly outdated now. I wish I had the time and the resources to write something similar myself. Maybe one day.
