OK so thanks to Mike Mezeul I know about this......

I don't have time to go through this thread with a toothcomb - I have a life - but I am assuming that Mr. Griffin has now gone to ground, so to speak.

Does anybody have a contact email address for him? I would like our photographs removed from his webpage immediately, as, I am sure, everybody else would.

Billy - if you are reading this - I suggest you disband your webpage and/or contact me at [email protected] to discuss this.

Billy, I am one of the people you ripped off. Lemme tell you right now, I will sue you. This is absolutely proposterous on your part. You actually can have the nerve to argue with the forecasting techniques of the NWS and the SPC and call yourself a chaser, yet you steal photos? Funny as heck...

I hope you get banned off of this site for your doings, and everybody gets to get back what you have stolen from them, which is the pictures that we have worked so hard to get. I guess you just sit at home, critisize others and steal photos...

I will be contacting a lawyer ASAP...

This is all just too weird. The "MROB" connection with this is getting positively spooky. Note that "www.redcoat.net" where some -- ah, items irrelevant to the matter of this thread linked in the infamous BG's guestbook -- are located in Nashville as is ...

Someone with some internet knowledge seems to be out of their freaking gourd. Anyone have any ideas who "MROB" might be...

Also of course his main homepage is www.billygriffin.com. Be sure and drop by and sign Billy's guestbook as many chasers already have - LOL. His email address is [email protected] in case you want to send a personal message. Also someone needs to do a DNS records lookup on billygriffin.com find his webhost and let them know they need to shut down his site.

I have all of his Wx portion saved to my HD, it's about 4.3 megs and contains all the files and pictures. If you wish to obtain a copy, PM me.

from his site

June 9, 2005...

Another "bust" in the forecast. Started off with a moderate risk for severe storms, and some forecasters here in Norman were actually bold enough to forecast significant, long-track violent tornadoes. Just didn't turn out that way. We did manage, however, to get on a nice rotating storm near Vici, Oklahoma.

For those of you(Specificly Karen who isn't in the chatroom and didn't already hear me mention this) who want have pictures on his page id suggest sending a DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) notice to his webhost. The person I would send the email to is the email addy listed for the Administrative Contact([email protected]) that someone posted from the domain whois above.

You can read about the DMCA at http://www.ncsu.edu/copyright/DMCA.html and some information on proper takedown requests at http://www.chillingeffects.org/dmca512/faq.cgi#QID130. Heres a link to information from Verizon on doing DMCA takedown requests http://www22.verizon.com/copyright/.

It's very unfortunate that Billy found it necessary to steal photos from other members because he's not intelligent/talented enought to get up off his a** and produce his own work. This is one reason why I choose not to post chase photos, because certain individuals can't leave their hands off of other's work. I hope the victims of this incident decide to file charges for infringement, this should not be tolerated IMO. Just goes to show you that some people cant be trusted, and it's very sad to see that certain people have to resort to this type of cowardly act. Billy, If you're monitoring this post, you need to man the f**k up and post some sort of apology/explanation or something!! This is not cool!!!!
