• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

I've noticed a lot of old threads being resurrected this week, some almost two years old. Some I'm about to post a reply, and find that I already posted the same thing a year ago! No complaints per se, just an observation. Is it possible that old threads are spontaneously showing up as new posts for newer members, thereby eliciting new replies?

It's just me, catching up. When you do a search, sometimes the 2nd or 3rd result can be old. Ain't it fun? It's kinda like warming up 2-day old coffee in the microwave.

I was going to post an apology for CONTINUING the resurrection of an old thread earlier today. I maintain web sites for a living and one of them has a forum.. I hate when people come in and revive long dead topics.. While I didn't put the apology in the other thread like I considered, I'll do it here. I'm sorry. ;)

Like your avatar Glenn and nothing wrong with starting back up old topics :)

In some forums that is known as Necroposting, raising old posts from the dead, and is frowned on. We have no rule at this time about it here.

The way I see it, it's ok in the off-season and probably not such a good idea during storm season. I don't see any settings that would manage this on our board, so I'll just count on users to use courtesy and only bump an old thread judiciously.

Well I replied to an old thread without even realizing it until David had pointed it out... I can't notice the post date right away because it doesn't seem to jump out at me.

I don't see anything wrong with bringing up old threads, it is just newer people reading older posts and feel like chiping in, it isn't like they are talking about "current events", just general stuff....
