• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

New radar app for Droid

Not sure if it's been noted yet, but I've been getting force closes when switching back to PYKL from another app... I do the long-press home and select PYKL, 2 seconds later it force closes.

Phone is EVO 4G. ROM: Cyanogen MOD 7 (Android 2.3.3)

I have a Motorola Xoom that I plan to chase with PYKL3 works real nice on it as long as I have it in portrait orientation. I can rotate after I start the program but the device doesn't do the rotation (the menu controls stay on the side). Also if starting from landscape mode on the xoom it will force close all of the time. I suspect this app is meant for portrait only as on my captivate it will not rotate either. I have no force close issues with the captivate though.

Been a little while since I posted an update for V2, so here goes. Product cleanup/polish has been going pretty well. I am working on SRM so that the proper color table (palette) shows up. The program was originally written for the 256 level products, so there is just some engineering that has to be done to get the old 4 bit products to display properly. I have begun work on the Favorites list for the radar and that's about half done. The final bit was unplanned for V2, but is a requirement due to the number of mobile devices that do not support the OpenGL PointSize parameter (thus all cities, spotter network locations, user defined locations) will all show up as single pixels. Hard to see = hard to use. Hopefully that won't take long. At that point, it goes to the beta team and then distributed to everyone.

It will display legacy 4 bit SRV. GrLevel 3 also uses 4 bit data (Product code 30) only GR2Analyst derives 8 bit SRM. User defined storm motions/8 bit SRM is something I'd like to do in the future though. I had originally only wanted to support 8 bit SRM, but the poor CPU in the mobile devices is just so burdened already.
