• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

New radar app for Droid

I have both. PYKL3 is downloaded on my cell phone because the app is in the android market. Radarscope I use for my IPad. I love both apps, but honestly I'm still not sure why there is not road maps or at least the option of adding road maps via an outlet of some sort. I know with GRlevel3 you can do backgrounds. I would love if the developers start working on road maps or having the option availabe soon before the season really begins.

When you say road maps, are you referring to actual labels for highways and major roads or just the plotting of road networks? Pykl3 by default plots a vast majority of roads but doesn't label them. I would certainly think that the physical file size of a detailed map would prevent proper functionality on a majority of phones (especially anything that is not dual core). I think the only real option for detailed mapping would be on powerful tablets and/or GR3 on windows based tablets. I have no experience programming for phones but just based on the stuttering I get in radarscope when I start to move over the SE US I can imagine adding a detailed road map would pretty much bring my phone to a crawl.

I would be fine with the plotting of road networks. However, a detailed background image (black) with lines and the name (white) of the roads calibrated with your GPS position would be great or I'd like to have what I can do with GR3 and that is the ability to add shapefiles. Regardless, I really hope the developers can figure something out before the season really begins.

Updated my Droid X to 2.3 and I am impressed. I also am running a free trial of AllisonHouse data and I love the storm track feature, lightning data, and storm reports, etc. Great update!

I want to say that I really love pykl3 app. I saw pykl3 in market first and thought it is some another radar app. I was using radarscope first.
then I ran into this thread then I decided to buy it. It is very good app for chasers and other people who are into weather.
