new iphone--tethering/gps/chasing potential?

Anything that you do breaks TOS with ATT from Slingbox to streaming a dash cam but I do it and have been for years without any problems. It's laughable when people come on forums and act like they are the phone police and act like it bothers them when they don't even use AT&T. Some people need to get a life ! The same people cry about locking a thread when they should just have the balls to not post in it .

Seriously guys... It is a violation of the TOS. It's like using Photoshop with another key 'someone showed you' or using a piece of software without license by deleting a config file somewhere. Slingbox doesn't break the TOS when you use it over wifi. I'm not the phone police but I do think it is pretty two-faced to come on here and talk about how to get around things that break the AT&T TOS but yet we have a thread dedicated to copyright infringement for chaser pisctures/video etc. Abide by the same 'rights' as you demand for your own work.

So AT&T says no tethering what so ever and that you can't do it no matter what?

Why are you so concerned about it ? Are you an AT&T stock holder or CEO ? On one of my lines I have PDA tethering. Yes that's an option for some phones. And yes I have streamed a dash cam and used more than 10 gigs before while out on the road. Nobody said anything about copyright infringement and I fail to see what it has to do with this thread

IPHONE users you can use a $15 data plan. I will post details very soon.

I'd rather you guys not fight and complain. John ... it's not going to affect your livelihood in any way nor is johns opinion affecting you in any way J ... it is what it is. I wish you guys would stop.

My dad is an AT&T employee and stockholder and was all for me getting the tethering. The fact is is that AT&T really doesn't care. If they did, they'd release a cheap tether plan...

There are actually a lot of tether friendly phones according to the att website. A couple features were withheld until late summer with the 3.0 update though. MMS was and im almost positive tethering will be released at the same time.

Yes, it's an option on some phones, but violates your TOS on an iPhone. I'm not a stock holder but I respect agreements. You signed the agreement so therefore are bound by it. You are stealing the service, so it is no different then stealing video. They have a direct relationship so it belongs in this thread. How can you not see that relationship.

Tethering on an iPhone is a violation of the iPhone data TOS, period. Any circumvention of this violates the TOS and is the same as theft.

Posting those details to ST will most certainly lead to a DMCA take-down notice.

That's a very narrow view... It affects everyone in higher rates. I just don't understand how we're tolerating a discussion about stealing something. We might as well start posting CS4 install codes...

Wow...I started looking for a some technical, insightful information on the iPhone and data issues and it becauses a b***h out session. Arrrggg....no wonder it is so hard to find good tech advice on ST these days.
