Help understanding these maps

Ok, so im good at reading the basic weather map and knowing all the symbols and things, but when I get to these kind of maps, I have a hard time understanding many things. Why are there so many kinds of shear readings? What do they mean? I just need some help.

To help you out, most of the parameters have a question mark symbol on the right side. Click on the question mark and it will explain what that particular parameter is and how it's used in Meteorology.
