• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

I have the emulator installed to split the signal, but I cant get the ports to show up on levelx? Does anyone know how to pull this off, exactly. Ports 3, 6 and 7 show up on GRLX, but the emulator only shows, ports 4, 5, and 8? And I have them shut off. All besides port 4 which is NMEA, other option is choosing raw? Anyone know how to do this, I have been playing around with it now for about 20mins?

Try changing the emulator ports to match the ones that show up in GR (I can't remember if I had to do that or if GR automatically pulled them into the list.). You want to leave it set to NMEA for it to work properly.

Maybe this will help you or others since I have had trouble with the emulator.

After pulling out my hair here is a fix I found. After Street atlas gets a lock I fire up the serial emulator and go into the SL GPS options to start up the gps. 9 times out of 10 it will sit there on the awaiting fix message. Now I found when it does that I have to hit stop tracking in SL then close down the emulator, once it closes I reopen it and when it gets a fix I then hit start tracking in SL again and it works.

I have the same issue with StormLab and GR programs so I know it has to be an issue with the emulator being picky about something. The only reason why I put up with it is because it is free.

Jared,

I tried getting the Delorme emulator to work about a year + ago and I finally gave up because it's a POS. I ended up purchasing Franson GPS Gate for a nominal fee and haven't ever looked back. Here's the link to their website:

http://www.franson.com/gpsgate/

Just install it making sure you select the option for all users, then run the setup wizard and you'll be set.

I'm currently using The Delorme Earthmate LT-20 along with the Delorme Serial emulator with no problem.

I'm sending NMEA data to GRlevel3, GRlevel2, and Spotter Network. The Delorme Street Atlas software automatically grabs the NMEA data seperately and on its own.

I have mine set up on Ports 3,7, and 8 with all out putting NMEA.

Seems like your problems are in that you need to select NMEA on all ports you want to be available to other programs.
