• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Great pykl3 replacement for me

It does have this lightning view (see attached)
But I don't see anything for a closer view of the local area. The attached image is as much as I can zoom in on my state (Colorado).
For some reason only TX & FL have their own separate closer views.

Hey Ely.
Couple of suggestions.
Add a 3rd party data server. L3 works fine but L2 is always behind.
Add a temp icon in the notification bar. Something that is GPS based so it's always current. And also expand the options for temp. Currently it's just NWS. Adding Mesowest and Wunderground data would be great with options for selective updates like 1minute, 5 minute, etc.
Just something to think about.
Dave.

The one that's named "app-release.apk".

You may have to go into your device's security settings and turn on "allow installation from unknown sources" before installing.

I don't know if you still check this forum @ELY M. , but
My tablet with this app has for the most part been my 'go to place' for weather info.
Over time some of the options quit working which was ok, but...
Suddenly with the beginning of the new year, it quit alltogether (it still loads, but none of the tiles (except the lightning one) give much more than a blank space). Stuff like 'area forecast discussion' says "none issued by this office recently"

I've tried rebooting the tablet more than once with no luck.

I have a way to look at outgoing connections on my network, and can see it connects(or atleasts attempts to connect - I have no way of seeing if any data is actually transferred) to various noaa.gov / weather.gov sites, plus stuff like spotternetwork.org & .lightningmaps.org

Any ideas on what to look at or try? (short of deleting/re-installing the app, which I'd rather not do)

Adding:
Out of curiosity, I just fired up Pykl3 on my other older tablet, and get nothing on the radar out of it.
Did the NWS maybe make some sorta upgrade (downgrade in reality!) to their systems? that's broken all older apps?

The last thing in this ver of wX that still did work...radar...one of the main things I used it for has quit too (just shows a screen with state/county outlines & roads).

Occasionally my PYKL3 would not load radar data, but most the time it does. I just tried NWS and Allison House and they both worked.
