Good Camcorders?

I use the JVC Everio GZ-R10 Quadproof Camera for mine, and when I set it on Manual Focus, it stays on manual focus until I take it out of it... even if its been powered off for days...

Ben how well does the auto focus work on the Sony PXWX70 while chasing? If you do not use auto is it easy to focus in manual mode? I take it it is just a focus ring on the front? Thanks
