I am looking for a budget-friendly handheld camcorder for chasing, I currently go back and forth between shooting on my Canon 6D when I am not shooting stills or timelapse and my full-size news camera I use for my full-time job.

I have been looking at buying a used Sony AX-53, but it is around $800 for this option and more than I would like to spend if there are other less expensive, bang for my buck options out there.

I am looking for something as my main video camera while chasing that has a good build quality, 4K video, good quality audio (3.5mm external mic/line in would be a plus), clean HDMI out (optional), codec like AVCHD (not a requirement, but makes editing easier for me) and overall good quality picture. Might be a little unrealistic, but as close to $500 would be best. New or used from a reputable company (B&H, KEH, Adorama etc.) preferred. Anyone have the AX-53, do you like it? Any suggestions for other cameras?

I am also looking to possibly upgrade my dashcam as well, I am currently using a Logitech webcam into Streamlabs OBS on my Mac and the picture quality is not as great as I'd like. Any suggestions for a cheap (hopefully in the ballpark of ~$100) camcorder and whatever else I'd need to take it into OBS? Trying to avoid additional hardware as much if possible. This camera wouldn't need to be loaded out with features, just needs to have good quality picture, decent quality audio would be nice, fit on a small windshield mount, look good while driving and look good when zoomed in (not digital zoom).

Thanks!
