Well with the fall approaching, I for one am very excited. A little known secret about living in the panhandle, and I'm just going to spill the beans. Around this time of year, we get a few days where storms fire off the Raton and Black Mesa in NM/OK Panhandle. These storms usually line out and crawl southeast. Most people would shrug such storms off, especially when they are barely severe criteria. But some of us know better, and watch the line roll in, which is usually conveniently timed right around sunset. Its a pretty common event to get some impressively photogenic lines and clusters come through.

These pics are from last night, Sept 6, 2012, taken on the north side of AMA.
