Wow, this is kind of shocking. I will be sending up prayer for Eric and his family. I guess we should all see this as a reminder of how we ourselves or a close friend or family member can unexpectedly and suddenly be struck down and make sure we have our lives and or spiritual lives in working order. Eric is a great guy and not someone I would have even dreamed I would be hearing such news about.

Terrible and shocking news... My thoughts are with Eric and his family. I've never met Eric in person, but we have conversed many times via phone and email about storm chasing - I've nowcasted for him several times over the last few years. As other's have commented, he seems like a great guy. Outside of meteorology, storm chasing, and other science related stuff; we share a passion for the culinary arts (cooking great food) and fine restaurants. - bill

This is really sad news... I have been to several storm chasing parties with Eric here in Kansas City. He and his family will be in my thoughts and prayers! Get well soon Eric!

Haven't heard anything recently, last I heard is that he had emergency surgery yesterday but other than that haven't heard anything else. I sent his wife an email to find out how Eric is doing, soon as I hear more I'll let you know.

Thanks, Joey. I appreciate your keeping us informed. I haven't seen anything on the carepages journal, and I, for one, definitely want to keep posted on how Eric is doing.

Wow, that is very sad. I have always enjoyed Eric's posts on night-sky events. We'll have the Fleschers in our thoughts and prayers for sure. Get well!!

family arriving

I doubt if his wife will post anything unless there is a change in his condition. His brother and sister were to arrive today. One of their kids arrived on Sunday. I believe they are probably very busy at this time. As soon as I hear something I will post it here, if Joey doesn't first.

His wife, Sue-Ellen was going to school to teach today so she could prepare for a substitute as needed this week. She teaches at the same district as I do and I asked her co-workers to keep me informed as well.

I also know they are active in their synagogue, schools and community and she has many people asking her about Eric, so just keep checking caringbridge, facebook and here as we get word from her. - Belinda
