Could someone please tell me the proper way to pronounce Eric's last name? I never met him and have never heard his name actually said. Thanks in advance.

Flescher

Like Flesher the "ch" is silent. Or so that's how I always addressed him and he never corrected me so i think you're good there.

Very sad, I'd hoped he could have pulled through. I echo the sentiments of others on the board and wish him (wherever he is now) and his family the very best! Rest in peace Eric.

I am presently talking to Sue-Ellen and she wanted people to know that there is another Shiva event at the same location as the one on Thursday evening. She said if you are in the area, she is inviting you to the informal event. Because the event is at a personal residence please contact me PM and I will forward the location to you.

Just saw the sad news about Eric. I believe I met him at a Denver Convention several years ago, and
remember him as a most congenial gentleman. It is nice to see the chase community coming together with a common response of caring and respect for a well regarded fellow chaser.

I had the pleasure of spending time with Eric at my house during a storm chasing party we were hosting. It was clear to me how much Eric enjoyed storm chasing and all the people in the storm chasing community. It is a sad day and he will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I didn't know Eric, but it is so sad when a man so full of life and with so many wonderful interests passes away. He seemed very nice from the posts I've read from him and about him. I'm so sorry for his family. His was a life well lived!

Probably the last update from Sue Ellen, Eric's wife:

Although I know I have thanked many people along the way, I want to thank all of you again who have provided comfort & support, food, a place to sit, rides for both family & friends (and me, too), cards & donations, hugs ...... I am very grateful.

I've not logged into ST for a while, and have only just read this very sad news - very sorry to hear this, and my thoughts are with everyone close to Eric, and to anyone who knew him.

I had the privilege of talking with Eric over the phone a couple of times and emailing occasionally down through the years. What struck me about him was his enthusiasm for the weather and his kindness and thoughtfulness towards everyone. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

I too haven't been on for a while, and only just learned of this tragic news. Although I didn't know Eric, I knew of him and his work. My thoughts are with Eric's family and this is a great loss to storm chasing.:(

I had the pleasures of meeting Eric twice in my years of chasing. The way he looked at a storm was amazing. He was a very vivid person and had such passion for it all. The first time I saw him was by happen stance on a chase. He was just standing on the side of the road staring into a storm. Nothing was being said. Camera in hand, he looked at me and said, "run to my car and grab another battery, this one is dying." It still makes me chuckle...You will be missed but not forgotten..

I've been away from ST and FB for quite a while now, and had lost track of everything going on in chaser world for quite some time. So I'm terribly late with this comment, but wanted to say something, nonetheless.

My sympathies to Eric's family and close friends. He came over to my place a couple of times to watch chase videos, and I really enjoyed having him. He just loved everything having to do with the sky, and what can I say ... I do too. I'll miss seeing him around here and talking astronomy and storms and such. We've lost several good chasers over the last few years in here, and it's always a sad thing, but that much sadder when it's someone you know and enjoy.
