• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Hi everybody!

We've put together a compilation DVD of the best storm chasing adventures of the 2008 season. The DVD includes full chapters of:
March 2
March 30
April 23

As well as a half hour bonus segment of nothing but assorted 2008 clips, making for a total runtime of about 2 hours! Not only do you get awesome tornado and severe weather footage, you also get some insight into who we are as a family and our experience on each chase! Also includes an original soundtrack and a brief introduction before each chapter. On a personal note, this DVD has been a labor of love for me and as a 19 year old student it's quite the shock that I actually managed to get such a mammoth project completed in spite of my studies. I hope the community enjoys it as much as I've enjoyed chasing alongside my dad and brother and seeing the production through to the end.

Thanks!
The Carlsons

I just wrapped up watching this awesome DVD. I must say it was one of the most well produced chaser DVD’s I have seen. The narration, music and timely transitions made it seem as if it were produced by a Hollywood veteran. It appeared as though the production of this DVD was in their mind throughout the entire season, and this allows for some interesting transitional shots. When considering the difficult conditions the 2008 season provided, the DVD contains plenty of awesome footage as well. It starts out with lots of hail from early season chases, it then picked up with a shots of tornadoes from the 22nd, 23rd , 25th and 29th; all views and or tornadoes different than ones I seen. With 3 chasers in the car, besides someone always free to ensure good video, you get to hear plenty of interesting discussions, the one during the Windsor tornado on the 22nd being most interesting. Well Done!!

Eric Carlson, the youngest of the clan, went through a ton of work putting this production together and it shows. Definitely one of the more professional DVDs on the market in terms of storm chasing. Eric does the graphics, editing, and his own music and it combines with the terrific video to make a helluva DVD. The segment from May 22 brought back painful memories as they sat watching the Windsor situation unfolding. An event to which I wish I had documented on my own, not the tornado, but the reaction of myself as it was unfolding. The rest of the DVD is filled with tons of great footage, including some of the classics on May 22, May 23, and May 29. The bonus music video is pretty cool as it shows a lot of the familiar sights of the off-days that didn't make the cut in the end. And of course, the Wicked Witch flying videos are something you won't get anywhere else!

I enjoyed this entire production and definitely recommend picking up a copy for yourself.

This video is VERY unique as it has the feel of watching a tv show/documentary more so than a chaser vid. Everything from their use of video from the Wicked Witch (a specialized rc airplane with a video camera attached) to the use of multiple cameras, to Eric's narration. You know they are going to have good stuff every year but to present it in this format really caught me off guard in a postive way. VERY well done guys and great job on the editing/production tasks Eric.
