These Maximum Signal amplifiers use software controlled amplification that does not over power cell towers . That it is why it passes new FCC standards. The FCC will be cracking down very soon on a lot of products out there . This will not be among them.

Steve Miller... Glad to hear you got yours. Took mine out and was really shocked even though I was already expecting a lot from it. I didn't know 10 devices was supported, only thought 5, but I hadn't asked that question but was told it would handle everything I was running plus several cell phones. I was hoping you would have yours hooked up for the trip to chasercon to see how it goes for you during the trip. Anyways, enjoy it and just don't let Tuttle near it, he might steal it.

I'm flying to the conference so I won't have an opportunity to really use it until early next week when I'm in the mountains (the ultimate test). I plan to do a little trial tonight from my home which is in a horrible Sprint area. As for Tuttle, he steals candy bars too...
Gordon might have to correct me on the devices but I'm almost positive he said 10. 5 would still be plenty.

Independent Lab tests has confirmed 10. They did not go beyond that as we were happy with that . I know large in Buildings being developed now are handling up to 68 devices so far . They working on increasing that.

I've posted a few pics and some other info about this new unit. I received mine today (thanks Gordon!) and will be trying it out in the near future.

Steve, thanks for the review and the pictures of the Maximum Signal amp. While I just purchased the Wilson Sleek...I am seriously considering purchasing the MS amp as well. I am just looking for a few more reviews of actual field use. Chris's review really sounds promising! Looking forward to what you think.

On side note, I noticed that the MS amp has an optional mag mount antenna. Is there really any difference between the antennas? The reason I ask is that I will be renting a car during chase season and was not sure if the other antenna options are more of a permanent installation. Maybe Gordon has more info on this? Thanks.

No difference in performance . Kit comes standard with Glass mount . We can substitute mag mount if you are moving between vehicles . The only important factor is antenna separation, mounting glass mount usually insures this . The Wilson sleek only handles one phone and it must be in Cradle to work . While the maximum signal amplifier handles multiple devices , does not require phone to be in cradle and provides far more signal gain.

Thanks, Gordon. Sorry...I am not familiar with the glass mount antenna...is the antenna easy to install on a rental car? I just want to make sure that I buy something that I can use on a rental and will not be difficult to install or require a more permanent installation. I plan on using just one rental vehicle and will not be moving the amp between multiple vehicles.

A glass mount is permanent , you cannot remove and reuse , you are better to go with mag mount and just be sure you mount where you have proper separation

Steve... Glad to see you are seeing the same improvements I am getting.

I was in a dead zone east of Kaw Lake and down in a very low spot where not a single storm chaser said they could get service for 8 to 10 miles in any direction last week and I had 5 bars with 81 as my worst signal strength on my cradlepoint MBR1200. I did see a couple 90's at times and unplugged the Maximum Signal Wireless AMP and I had no service at all. So people, take Steve's report as gold even if you didn't take mine as gold. This thing rocks.
