This poll is for ST members who actively chase the Great Plains. The goal here is to help quantify chaser numbers by developing a ratio we can use against the number of active beacons on SN. Thank you!

I’m not sure if this helps, but my location is off most of the time, but if I am near/approaching an intense supercell, I’ll usually turn my location on. My location stays off for the entirety of a chase at least 75% of the time. If I’m chasing a storm that there are very few chasers on, that increases the odds that I’ll put my location on, especially if the storm has the potential to produce a tornado.
