Close lightning strike on digital video.

I was shooting some lightning video last year with a Sony Digital TRV140 and had an strike that was pretty close. I got this video grab from the clip: http://www.oklahomalightning.com/June1a.jpg

My question was what happened in this frame? Notice that the telephone wires are visible at the top and the middle as if the shutter messed up.

video grab was off center

Perhaps you should try another video grab. I have the older SNAPPY video snapshot hardware. I find its really difficult to get a good video grab the first time you try it. You have to play with it and get a good sense of when to hit the "grab" button. It looks like you caught it in mid-frame, so to speak. That would explain the telephone wires being in the middle of the frame and the white horizonal line is probably the top/bottom edge of the photo frame.

Screen Grabs

I am using Studio 8 and captured this digitally below is a screen capture of the grab sequence I did. I have also seen this happen in some other close strike videos before but cannot remember them right of hand.
