I caught a very close lightning strike (less than 1/4 mile away) on video in a winter thunderstorm. P-type at the time was all graupel/snow pellets, although at other times the storm did produce small amounts of ordinary snow and of rain. Here is a short video clip.
This storm was part of a cluster of thunderstorms around the area that produced mostly graupel, but also small amounts of ordinary snow, rain, and even small hail. A full report with pictures and a longer video clip can be found at:
