Chase Partner Thread 2010

Hi all,

I'm looking for someone with a bit of experience to chase with (or at least tag along with) from May 10-May 17.

I have about 5 years chasing experience, can read radar well, can drive long hours, can drive stick, and am more than willing to split costs.

I can rent a vehicle if need be, but would prefer to get on board with someone who is already in the plains.

Let me know if you are interested.

Looking for Chase Partner in Central Tx

I am located in the central part of Tx, specifically Waco. I am looking for someone to team up with that can operate radar, navigate, upload video and post info on twitter and blog. I am willing to train a newbie if the right person comes along. I don't care if your male or female. Splitting of fuel and food costs would be appreciated but not required. I have 20 plus years experience in chasing.

Local person would be a plus.

Greetings!! Wow never thought Id get so desperate as to resort to posting in this thread looking for chase partners but it is what it is.

Anyways, as you can see from my signature I am a meteorology graduate from the University of Oklahoma with 6 years chasing experience living in the DFW area. I am a chaser nut that last year booked a 4 week hotel in Wichita at the end of May and early June. Right now Im unemployed looking for a meteorology job in forecasting. This economy really has me behind the eight ball as far as obtaining an entry-level position but Im doing what I can to get by. I am looking for a storm chaser enthusiast in North Texas/Southern Oklahoma that wouldnt mind splitting the cost on chasing. I have very limited funds this year but would hate like hell to not be able to chase "the big one" when the day came. I have a 2004 Subaru Forester thats in good condition and I chase with my iPhone as my radar using the RadarScope app. I am also a licensed ham technician but rarely take advantage of that. Most times I just phone in my report to the NWS 800 storm report hotline.

I also wouldnt mind having a chase partner in the Wichita, KS area for late May/early June as I may once again book a 3 week stay up there as I absolutely love chasing KS west of 135.

Please PM if you would like to be my chase partner, live in my neck of the woods, and can help with the expenses of chasing. Thank you all and may the wind always be at your back.

Well, I wasn't able to make it out at the start of April like I had posted, but am now coming out to the central plains (preferably landing in Oklahoma) on May 27th and will be out on the chase till June first.

I'm hoping to team up with like minded chasers who don't mind pulling over every now and then to shoot storm structure as well as getting close to tornadic action.

I'm an easy to get along with 45 year old who travels light and can help with expenses and can trade off driving and has a keen second sense when it comes to storms.

Hello all, new to the site. Im currently living the the Sioux Falls area. I would be interested in meeting up with someone on weekend chases in the area. Able to help out with gas, and any other costs. Im 34 years old, and have years of fire/rescue/ems behind me. Feel free to msg me for any other information.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Bryan and I live about an hour southwest of KC. I was a Skywarn spotter for 13 years and have been chasing for the last 3 years or so. I am looking for a chase partner between May 16-31. Not the whole time but, at least 3-4 days and open to longer depending on the conditions. I am self employed so I can leave on not much notice. I have a Honda CRV all wheel drive, laptop with wireless internet, GPS, scanner (ham, nws, etc.), cell phone, power inverter, digital camera. I have basic meteorology skills as I have taken a Intro class at KU. When it comes to forecasting, pickings a target area and reading some maps I'm still learning. I would prefer someone with better forecasting skills then me and a camcorder. I'm also open to riding along as well if the circumstances are right. I would split gas and motel as I would expect you to do the same.

Hello everyone, my name is Fred Dearborn and live in Conway,Mo.The wife and I have been chasing for about 11 years now.Though I have a good perspective of weather and observing conditons in the field,Im not very good at forecasting future weather systems.I have been a weather nut since I was a kid and we have several supercell/tornadoes under our belt up to a F4.I run the latest equipment(GRlevel3,Delorme GPS,Ham,etc) and have a very good observation on the road, but I lack the fundamentals of meteorology. So anyway, feel free to help me or at least point me in the right direction.Pm me if you like or just say hi while on the road.We get out as often as possible and currently run a black '04 Ford Explorer with our 11 year old name "Storm Chaser One".

Chasing in Arkansas

Is anyone going to be in the central AR area chasing today? If so, my daughter is a beginner and eagerly wants to learn I would go with her but I am in NW AR at a convention and with everything from yesterday and anticipated for today, it would be great for her to get started. She watched first hand the events from last night as we live on top of a hill and our deck, facing to the SW, has at least a 50 mile view. She is a college student and very intelligent, no whining or complaining. I am new to Stormtrack so I am not sure how this works. I have read the rules and will re-read them on how to meet up with a partner.

Well, normally I don't do this but I have no other options at this point. Haven't had the chance to chase yet this year due to being busy with my business and am now scrambling to get my new data card here by Monday, which isnt going to happen. Had to change from Alltel to Verizon card but thats a whole other story...

Anyway, so due to all of this and the fact none of my normal chase partners are able to chase Monday I am now posting this and looking for someone to team up with from up north. Preferably, it will be someone I already know from NE/IA/SD/MN thats heading to KS but am open to hearing from other people too. Lets hope this works out somehow, dont want to miss out on Monday......

Almost forgot send a PM to me if you have any questions or are interested.

Hello everyone! I'm an amateur chaser living in Iowa for the next couple of weeks, and then I am moving to east Texas (Kilgore). I'm graduating from Iowa State (tomorrow!), and I've got a new job in Texas.

I currently have very little equipment and limited funds, until after I start my new job. I am a good driver and I am very easy to get along with. I am looking for someone who is interesting in chasing the midwest over the next couple of weeks until I move to Texas. I will split gas/hotel if needed.

I am very interested in chasing with someone this Monday (5/10/10) in Kansas. I will be in southwest Iowa at that time, and I'm willing to meet with someone.

Otherwise, I'll be around Iowa for the next two weeks. From about May 23rd onwards, I will be in east Texas. I don't know what my work schedule will be, but I'd be interested in chasing in that area when I am available.

PM me if you're interested.

Thanks!

Adam Lucio and I will be heading for Oklahoma tomorrow between the 12P-2P. Is there any chaser along the way (probably I 55 to I 44) that would be willing to join us to divide costs? We definitely are going to go either way, but it would be great to cut costs. Thing is we are probably chasing Wed-Fri-Sat-Sun so unless ...the system bombs, don't expect to be back til Monday or Tuesday. Is this feasible for anyone?

Wanting to tag along

Hello all, me and my mother are very interested in chasing and we really want to get out and do it, but we don't have the experience or money at this point. I am looking for someone to let us tag along on a chase and get some experience... We would really appreciate the opportunity to chase....

Looking for upper midwest chaser with a vehicle. My main team consists of a couple of fellows from Indiana... though, we're not always to meet up, and so on other days am looking for someone to work with. (plus, could work out that you could tag along with us at times perhaps depending on the car situation)

I am located in Iowa City, IA... ideally somebody close that would be coming by Iowa City.

Issue is that my vehicle isn't too suitable for chasing.

I do have verizon wireless data, a laptop, gps... photography equip and experience as a storm chaser.

Have been chasing 3 years now, and seen some neat things. Know how to navigate around a storm... find the base and miss the hail. . . etc etc..

Experience forecasting as well.

So don't necessarily need someone with lots of experience. Just need to be able to split costs.

Let me know via PM... thanks.

OK?

Im in OKC at the moment, and looking to head West / NW for a couple of days if any one is interested? Its not the worlds best set up but right now I would chew my own arm off for even a wee bit 'o thunder!

Looking for somebody to chase in the Topeka, Kansas area on July 11, 2010.

I have verizon wireless data, Radar/GPS/Laptop, will drive pay for gas.

Send me a PM if interested.
