Chase Case #13

Although I think there could be a play along the stationary/warm front somewhere near Lake Michigan (Wisconsin, Michigan, northern IN, extreme northern IL), I will follow the "start anywhere" suggestion and go farther from home to St. Cloud, MN. This will put me in the rain and gunge for now, but I would expect clearing as that moves out and redevelopment later - and I am liking the strong upper winds and directional shear in this area. Might have to move west, and can't go too far north or east without being in dense woods, but I think this is a good starting point.

I think I will start out in SIOUX FALLS IA and lean toward Spencer SD as the day wears on.

Gonna start this one in O'Neill, NE. I want to be close to SD in case something happens there. I see a little more directional and speed shear further north, but am hoping ample instability will build just further south to spark some TStorms.

Alright, I've made a "wayfaring map"

Buddy Bradley, I'm assuming you meant Sioux Falls, (SD) as opposed to Sioux Falls, (IA). If you meant Sioux City (IA), let me know and I'll change it.

I'll have the 18Z update out later today!

Alright, time for the 18Z updates! Visible satellite imagery is not too available for this date unfortunately, but do your best!

Dann you got to erase the date on one of the surface charts buddy, but I don't know what happened that day or heard of anything happening so I will continue participating.

We drove through Albert Lea and are moving west on I90. We are stopping for lunch in Worthington, MN and a quick fill up before heading further west to Sioux Falls, SD and likely meet up and chat with Verne for a bit.

Thanks for the heads up. Damnit ... I'd been so careful! :)

From initial data give me Mankato, MN

EDIT: After 18Z update I am hanging in Mankato yet and monitoring the hot prod/moisture ridge axis intersection that seems to be setting up to occur to the southwest of me.

Gonna head up to Sioux Falls, SD from O'neill, NE. I'm not liking surface temps too much. High 80's and low 90's are making me worry about a potential cap. Hoping this fire up closer to the warm front.

Looks like there may be some tropical enhanced activity across LA, along a stalled boundary. I am still hanging here in Ortonville, MN. I am beginning to think of heading a bit to the south along the Nebraska/Iowa border. I feel ok here, and the fishing is fantastic. . .
