9/13/08 DISC: AR

Five confirmed EF-1 Tornados around Arkansas Saturday night. The twisters hit parts of Garland, Hot Spring, Lonoke, and Perry Conuties. Of the five tornados Saturday night, one hit Crosswoods where a tornado also hit the town on April 3.

Interesting tornado footage from Eaton Co.

Well, there shouldn't be any more doubt on the Eaton Co. report. That's decent tornado footage, not to mention the fact it's coming out of southcentral Michigan. Looking back at the day, there was some pretty impressive low-level shear surrounding that warm front, and the modest instability helped to generate strong low-level rotation in the surface-based cells.

Kurt Hulst's footage from the same event:

^...tornadic storms actually exhibited decent structure for Michigan in September.

Wondered when that would pop up! I drove down that area with the EM the next day and he showed me where it was taped from, there was some healthy damage in the area. The First2Warn app I was beta-testing with him notified the EMA and 911 Director of a possible tornado in extreme southern Eaton Co even without a warning, so that helped seal the deal!
